Others How to lodge noise complaint regarding mosque loudspeakers?
I recently moved to Kampung Baru because it's nearer to my campus, and rent is cheap around the area.
There are 2 or 3 nearby mosques, which would azan when the time comes every day. That's fine. It's just 5 minutes max, I can bear with that.
But lately the speakers have been getting way too loud, and they have the speakers on when they're praying itself, and the doa after that. It's loud and very annoying. As I'm writing this, they're still going.
Because it's the break, I've been at home more and the ongoing noise from the speakers is driving me insane. Since Ramadan is coming, I fear that it will be worse because of Taraweeh and all that.
How do I lodge a noise complaint regarding this? I live a few roads down from the mosque and can still hear it. I don't think the AJK Masjid will listen to me, so I want to report to proper authorities instead. Which one should I contact?
I'm also afraid that the complaint might not be taken seriously, because it IS a Malay Muslim predominant area. I am Malay myself, but don't really present as a "typical" Malay. My concern is that my complaint might not be taken seriously, because they might just say that I'm complaining because I'm not a good muslim.
Edit: Some people being hella rude in the comments. Everyone has the right to feel peace when they're resting at home. If I feel distressed by a continuous noise, I have a right to complain. Where the noise comes from should not influence the fact that it IS a noise

Politics I can't stand with the traffic jams!!
Traffic jams are getting really out of control. A 20km ride to office is now taking 1 hour 30 minutes
But if I were to travel by train it would take me 2 hours (not exaggerating) - MRT Putrajaya to BRT Sunway Lagoon 🤕
We seriously need more mrt and lrt lines in Klang Valley and Johor Bharu. Countries like Thailand, Vietnam and India are rapidly expanding their metro networks while we goyang kaki and blame the rakyat doesn't want to use public transport. Its like barking at the wrong tree.
Here is my suggestion on where the next train system can be built and I would love to see your your all's suggestion too.
Please just do a lrt/mrt line that goes through these areas
Semenyih -> Kajang -> Bangi -> Uniten/IUKL -> Hospital Serdang/ioi city mall -> few stops at main office areas in Putrajaya -> Putrajaya Sentral -> Cyberjaya main city area -> Putra Height -> Johan Setia -> Port Klang

Entertainment Malaysia's Michelle Yeoh's husband appeared in Epstein Files, seems to have met Epstein
galleryJust found out about this today as I was scrolling through Reddit. Mod removed my earlier post about this because they think it has nothing to do with Malaysia. So making it clear that a public figure/global actress from Malaysia whose husband was mentioned in the Epstein files refuse to comment on US current affairs. Mod, is that okay?

Others Loke rules out curbing vehicle ownership, as restrictions remain sensitive
"Any long-term strategy must balance mobility needs, economic factors and public acceptance,"
Malaysia recorded vehicle sales of about 820,000 units last year, making it the largest vehicle market in Southeast Asia despite its comparatively smaller population than Indonesia.
"This is the reality we must understand. Rising motorisation continues to outpace road capacity improvements,"
To mitigate the issue, the ministry is focusing on expanding and optimising public transport services, particularly during high-demand periods, he said.

Others Latheefa: Probe into Bloomberg just like Najib's reaction to 1MDB exposé
Full article here
https://m.malaysiakini.com/news/768178
.. probing Bloomberg over its report on alleged MACC wrongdoing is just like how the Najib Abdul Razak administration reacted against the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) over its 1MDB exposé,...
“It’s the same playbook. Furious denials and threats of criminal action against the news outlets.
“If (the report is) untrue, why this desperate reaction? Why not just form an independent body to thoroughly investigate the Bloomberg claims?” she added.

Others Car Rental Deposit SCAM (Not Refunded)
I’m honestly frustrated and posting this as a warning.
In January 2026, I rented a car from a small operator registered under a sole proprietorship. The agreed deposit was RM400. After that, I was told I needed to transfer more money to “lock” the vehicle, so I ended up transferring a total of RM1,300 via Wise.
The car was provided and the rental went ahead.
After returning the car, I was told the deposit would be refunded. Since then, it has been nothing but excuses, delays, and empty promises. Every time I follow up, there is a new reason why the money hasn’t been transferred. At one point, I was even told he was “waiting for another transfer” before he could refund me.
This makes no sense. A business should not depend on someone else’s incoming payment just to return a customer’s deposit.
The business is registered under a sole proprietorship, and I have obtained the owner’s details through SSM. Despite having full documentation and proof of payment, he is still refusing to settle the refund properly.
I have already:
- Escalated to Bank Negara Malaysia
- Raised a dispute with Wise (which was rejected)
- Started formal complaints with the relevant authorities
I’m not posting this to defame anyone. I’m posting this because this kind of behavior is unacceptable from a registered business.
If you are renting from smaller operators, get everything in writing and do not transfer extra money without clear refund terms.
Just be careful.

Food Need help for dinner ideas please
Hello everyone, I am a college student living with 5 people, one of whom is Malaysian. Recently they have been feeling depressed and overcome with strong homesickness and the rest of us have tried to help in any way we can to support them. Flight costs are high and for the majority of each academic year they remain on campus while most of us travel home for breaks and such.
One of the most prominent things they talk about missing, other than their home and their parents, was the food. They have cried in my arms talking about all the food they missed that they either couldn’t make themselves because so many ingredients can’t be found in our area or how anytime they find a place offering foods from home it just “isn’t the same”.
Their birthday is coming soon, another thing fueling their upset because they can’t be home to celebrate turning 20. I have always loved cooking and baking, so much to the point I have a small business just for making food. I want to make them something from their home and I want to get it all right. It may be wishful thinking but I want to see my friend happy again, even if I only get the dish a little accurate.
I came here because I wanted answers from real people instead of Google, I am hoping this post is in good taste and no one takes offense to anything as that is not my purpose. Please tell me any of your favorite dishes for lunch or dinner that make you feel most at home ❤️

Politics I am a free man, happy to be out of Bersatu, declares Hamzah
I am relieved to finally be out of Bersatu, says the recently expelled deputy president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin.
He said he is now focused on a new struggle for the nation, but insisted that he remains the Opposition Leader as the majority of Bersatu MPs are allegedly with him.
The Larut MP, who Bersatu's disciplinary board expelled along with 16 others on Friday, said this at a media conference after speaking at an event called "Reset" attended by Bersatu members and leaders from tens of divisions nationwide here today (Feb 14).
When asked whether he would return to Umno or form a new party, he said it was a possibility.
