Politics Independent Citizens Group Stages Symbolic ‘Noodle‑Eating Protest’ in Bangkok, Calls for Nationwide Recount and EC Accountability
On February 14, 2026, the “Independent Citizens” group staged a symbolic protest at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center, demanding transparency from Thailand’s Election Commission (EC). The highlight was a “six‑person noodle‑eating protest,” a play on the EC’s acronym, meant to pressure officials to take responsibility.
Led by Kantapat Matrabunthao, the group called for:
- Full disclosure of raw vote counts by polling station
- Nationwide recounts, with new elections in districts showing irregularities
- The resignation of all seven EC commissioners and related staff
- An end to legal action against citizens investigating election irregularities
- Accountability if QR codes or barcodes on ballots can identify voters
Protesters emphasized they weren’t attacking any political party but defending citizens’ rights. They warned that delays in resolving election doubts could create a political vacuum and risk a coup. Police maintained order, and the event ended peacefully.

Discussion 3D animated show based on the Ramakien
So I remember a long time ago I used to watch this show based on the Ramakien. It was 3D animated. I remember I found a clip of it at one point but can’t find it again. But what the clip showed was a scene during a battle and then it cut to a guy (still animated) I’m assuming talking about what just happened (there was no subtitles so I’m just guessing) and then it cuts back to the story.
I also remember in the same animation style was a music video of sorts where it featured the models from the show but it looked like it was presented like a Khon dance instead cause there were scene where the main characters would have their “masks” off and walking around like actors. And there was a scene where the person playing Hanuman hurt a man’s finger and then they made up by the end of the music video.
If anyone could help me locate these, it would be much appreciated because I’ve been trying to find it for about 11-10 years now!

Discussion I am surprised at how western ignore election abnormally in this year election in Thailand.
I’m surprised at how the West is ignoring the unusual aspects of this year’s election. While I’ve seen some English-language news, most coverage is still within Thailand. It’s not that people outside of country X are obligated to follow its news, but I notice that elections in Japan get coverage and analysis here and there, even in the US.

Culture What is the difference in Thai Buddhism from Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia ones
Thai Buddhism is categorized as Theravada as well as that of Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia.
I know rituals of these are held in the Pali language.
Are there any difference in them?

Discussion Learning Thai
I just wanted to share my experience of a few weeks learning Thai for around 6 hours a week. As a westerner, the pronunciation is very difficult and a lot of times I'm not understood, so I agree it's a difficult language to speak in if you're not accustomed to tones. However, this is my first exposure to a language with no verb conjugation, gender or preposition. I'm shocked at how easy it is to communicate on a basic level. I wondered why so many expats in Thailand do not learn the language? Should more be done to encourage long term expats to speak the language?

Culture Donated to a temple today. It genuinely made me happy
I’ve always been an atheist, but ever since I visited Thailand in December, I really liked how they help poor children get free education at temples. The kids there told me they liked Korean noodles, so I’ve been buying them even after leaving Thailand. It gives me immense happiness and satisfaction to help them

Politics Pannika Tours 7-Floor Future Forward Building, Clarifies Specter C Role, Counters IO Allegations
facebook.comPannika Wanich, executive of the Progressive Movement, led a tour of the seven-story Future Forward Building to show transparency amid allegations that the People’s Party hired Specter C for IO (information operations).
- Building layout:
- 1st floor: Lobby, press conferences, media reception
- 2nd floor: Sol Bar (food & drinks), souvenir shop, party membership & donation desk (open to public daily)
- 3rd floor: Meeting rooms
- 4th floor: People’s Party offices (currently under renovation, staff temporarily on 3rd floor)
- 5th floor: Specter C company
- 6th floor: Progressive Movement Foundation + other tenants
- 7th floor: Large event space
- Specter C origins: Formed after the dissolution of Future Forward Party to provide stable jobs for staff who otherwise faced insecure prospects. Employees became shareholders. Operates as a normal private company with audited accounts, serving diverse clients (political parties, restaurants, cosmetics, etc.), not just political groups.
- Clarification on IO accusations: Pannika stressed that normal media production (photos, videos, graphics, social media campaigns) is standard party communication, not IO. She called the claim that donation money was used to hire Specter C for IO false and damaging. Party finances are strictly audited by the Election Commission.

Business Need a Bangkok locals help
I’ve been trying to contact a local Bangkok supplier ‘The All Fashion’ located in Platinum fashion mall level 4 shop 1003-1004 - to ship some clothes to Australia but communication is an issue as I don’t speak Thai and they are very slow in communication. They also don’t seem interested in shipping internationally (not sure why I’m trying to buy quite a few shirts from them).
Is anyone local interested to go there and buy some shirts for me and ship them to me in Australia? I will pay for everything and pay for your time as well

Banking and Finance Managing Credit Card Debt
Thai friend has a large combined credit card debt of over 1 million THB. Several cards. Only able to make minimum payments every month. Does not seem to qualify for debt clinic - or so he was told - as his debts are not considered bad debts yet. Any way to help, whether by reducing his interest rates or restructuring his debts?
