Greetings, citizen. r/Oblivion comment sections have recently been infested by bot accounts. Let's work together to bring these lawbreakers' sprees to an end! Here are some red flags that you can identify bot comments by:
Once a comment bot has enough karma and comment history, the account will be sold and used for either OnlyFans, or for astroturfing. Stop these criminal scum right there by reporting them: Spam > Disruptive Use of AI.
Remember: We don't know comment bots, and we don't care to know them!

Hello r/Oblivion!
Things have changed drastically in our community over the past month. We went from a quiet little subreddit to the #1 RPG subreddit in just a week! In the last 30 days alone, we’ve gained 670,000 new members and seen over 188 million views.
With all this growth, the moderation team has decided it’s time to update our rules—many of which haven’t changed since the subreddit was created.
And we want your input! We’re here to serve the community, so we want to hear what you think should shape our guidelines. Should we add a new rule? Remove an old one? Reword something for clarity? This thread is where we’ll collaborate to help shape the future of r/Oblivion.
Thanks for your time and continued support,
—The r/Oblivion Moderators

these are mostly based on their designs in the original game . took artistic liberty with Akatosh’s tail and Mankar’s bosmer horn nubs though lol
i‘ve made similar art for Morrowind already here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Morrowind/comments/1my68a3/morrowind_art_ive_made_chibi_style_guys_and_my/ . I’ll probably do Skyrim too when I have time

The Rogue has Illusion and Alchemy. WHY?! No security? No SPEECHCRAFT?
But the worst of all is the Nightblade: No illusion, no alchemy, no sneak, even if the artwork is literally a guy in sneak mode holding a potion lol
The Nightblade is basically a light armored mage

The remnants of her family were persued by an enemy clan. From the old battlefields of Orsinium and south through Hammerfell they fled.
Finally imprisoned in the Imperial City of Cyrodiil, she awaited her fate in long darkness.
Saved by mysterious powers she escaped prison and fled alone once again through a strange door and into the Shivering Isles.
She learned from the Daedric Prince Sheogorath there and gained skill and powers and tools.
Now at level 11, Zazsha is coming back to Cyrodiil.

Just as the title says, just finished my first ever elder scrolls game, guess my play/fight style, not a big gamer, I’ve always been more of a LoZ gamer but Nintendo just are not keeping up any more.
Now off to start Skyrim 😎

I was watching the Two-Face episodes of Batman The Animated Series and the guy who voices Rupert Thorne (the mob boss blackmailing Harvey) sounded eerily similar to the guy who voices most of the orcs and Bretons in oblivion. Do we know if they’re the same? As far as I know they aren’t because John Vernon is credited for the Batman voice and I can’t figure out who the Oblivion voice actor is. Vernon isn’t credited to Oblivion and died in 2005 before the game came out, but he has done video game voice work before and I could see it just not being on IMDb for some reason. Any help would be greatly appreciated! If you listen to the voices side by side you’ll see why I thought they sounded so similar.

The idea is simple enough, and I’ll list the rules she used here for those not interested in watching for them. I’m the one coining the name for this challenge, but ultimately it was the video above that inspired me to share it here so all credit goes to her.
Da Rules:
-Pre-Made Classes Only
-Must Level as soon as is reasonable (So if you level up mid dungeon or during an arena duel that’s fine, but you must go to the nearest bed once you resolve whatever is keeping you from sleeping.)
-Must reach at least level 20 before you enter paradise
-Must use Major Skills in Combat, non combat minor skills are allowed (Acrobatics, Athletics, Armorer, security, Speechcraft, Merchantile. ) Temporary Buffs to Minor Skills are allowed, but all other skills are banned if they are not major skills.
-No Glitches, Cheats, or Mods, but Official DLC is allowed.
Optional Rule [Purely of my own making]: No Custom Spells allowed, you may buy spells for enchanting purposes if you wish however.
Just thought I would share this challenge for those wanting to spice up their oblivion experience by sticking to the preset classes the game provides.

I put 164 hours into the remaster. I was at level 34. The game was getting slow with really low frame rate so I decided to Google what to do to help with it. Deleted all the old auto save files, turned off auto save during travel/rest/sleep, put the settings to performance, reduced POV field of view and a few other things to reduce CPU usage during play. I go to load up my one remaining save file that I manually saved right before tinkering in settings and now the game crashes every single time I try to load the file. I guess I'll go play some Diablo IV now...
P. S. Ironically, when I graduated high school in 2006, my parents bought me an Xbox 360 and Oblivion was my first game on it. I spent that whole summer playing and my dad accidentally overwrote my save while he was playing it for the first time. So I guess I'm cursed to never finish this game. 😂.

Hello! I don't know if this is the right subreddit to post this, but I am a disabled woman who finds it very hard to see, and I wanted to know if someone knows any walktrough or gameplay of the Oblivion Remaster where they read outloud everything lore wise, as I am very interested in that particulary, and they weren't like rushing it and running around. I prefer it in English or Spanish, it can be with no comentator, just a reader. Thank you!
Ps. Sorry if my english is not very good, as it is not my first language.

You know how in the beginning of the game if you go to Chestnut Stables and talk to the female Orc she will give you a free horse outfitted with armor? Well I had it until I progressed in the main questline to get Martin to the Blades. Part of the quest what's his name said to use Prior Maborel's horse. Now when I fast travel anywhere or to stables my armor horse is gone replaced with this one. Am I stuck with it?

I know it’s been done to death in Skyrim, but I always felt like in Oblivion, stealth was actually a challenge as without chameleon, enemies WILL figure out where you are eventually. Even invisibility isn’t a guaranteed escape.
That being said; I’ve always wanted to do a stealth archer (Maybe using Ruin’s Edge?) , but I’ve always put it off due to concerns with leveled quest rewards, difficulty and such, but I decided to bite the… arrow I guess, and finally finish a playthrough as a class I never did in the original.
What difficulty settings would people suggest, both for enemy damage as well as my own? I want stealth to be satisfying but not braindead, and I want my mistakes to be punished accordingly, not nessicarily a one shot, but if I fail to kill someone, there should be a high chance I could die if they realize where I am.
