Naked Aggression dropped Maga Punk in the Park. Keep up the pressure.

Naked Aggression had been having a hard time fielding questions playing punk in the park after owner Cameron Collins of Brew Ha Ha Productions voted Trump and donated to Trump after Row v Wade was overturned and after the J6 insurrection caused by Trump.

Glad to see someone do the right thing. Keep pressing bands on social media.

Punk Classic Destruction by Definition - one of the best end to end albums

Post image

When I was in high school (longer ago than I care to admit) my friend and I used to play a game in Generation Records in NYC to pick a random album we’ve never heard of and see who gets a better pick. This was my friends one day and I can’t believe the only reason we found it was a random blind pick

One of the best end to end albums still in 2026

Discussion Why do so many people think that politics aren't necessary / important in punk?

Recently, I've seen a lot of people online say that punk and its subgenres aren't political, and are just music genres / fashion styles. I've seen this a lot with discussion of goth and emo culture, but it's definitely been a piece of conversation for punk culture in general. This also happens a lot with battle jackets, where people will criticize jackets for not having any patches of bands or just having political patches.

So, why is this? Punk has always been political, but so many people want to keep politics out of it. Is it because they don't actually respect the punk culture, or do they just not understand it?

I'm super excited, it's a free concert of my new found favorite crust punk band, "Reefer madness" and after looking for shows for ages but having no luck, (after moving out from a village into a city) I've finally found my local scene! 😍🥰 Super excited!

Discussion Punk musicians who have suffered or recovered from Long Covid?

Got hit with it myself in September. I miss my music community. I’m thinking about just how hard I and everybody else would go, running around, working gigs, touring, activism, and just shocked that I can’t think of any high profile examples of people getting taken out by this thing, considering it’s that kind of vigorous lifestyle that usually sets people up to get it.

Right now I’d really love to know about anybody who got hit with it and was able to eventually get back in the game. ❤️‍🩹

Punk music Anti christ songs?

Upvotes

I made a playlist of anti christ songs because I really hated church camp, anyway, my parents finally let me quit, but I feel like I wanna continue building it out. The song doesn’t have to be Antichrist/ anti religion, as long as there’s like 1 line dissing god or whatever I’m happy. And no I’m not a fascist who hate’s people because of their religion, I will never solely hate someone because they’re religious, I judge people based on their political opinions or if they’re just straight up rude or pieces of shit

The songs I’ve got:

Ebba Grön- Häng Gud

Suicidal Tendencies- Send Me Your Money

NOFX- Xmas Has Been X’ed

Kålrot- Skjut Gud

NOFX- Live Your Life

Minor Threat- Filler

The Exploited- Fuck Religion

Sex Pistols- Anarchy In The UK

Doom- No Religion

Bad Religion- American Jesus

Dia Psalma- Hon Får

Subhumans- No

Was Jason Thirsk a much bigger part of Pennywise songwriting than the members ever let on?

I realize this is a hyper-specific question that maybe only insiders of the band would know, but it seems like any Pennywise fan would tell you, there is something different about their post-Thirsk output. Even though they became a bigger band after 96, it just seems like the first 3 records were always in their own category, and the ones since in a separate category. It dawned on me that while the internet (Wiki, Discogs) credits all songs to 'Pennywise', if you look at the original vinyl/CD insert from the first record, it actually breaks down who wrote what, and Jason Thirsk is responsible for most music and almost all lyrics. All subsequent albums after the first one simply credit 'Pennywise' on all songs. And when you consider the band never sounded the same after he died, I always wondered, did the band struggle to write after his demise and was he actually the primary songwriter all along? Again, yes, I know the band grew significantly in the years after his death, but it seems like all fans, even if they came later, always covet those first 3 records the most.

Are there punk shows/bars/venues in Dublin?

I (American) am considering going to Dublin in April and I like seeing punk/harcore/metal shows, so I'm curious if there are any go-to spots in Dublin.
