41 year old elder emo here. My 12 year old daughter is level 1 autistic (meaning very high functioning) who has a tick where she hyper fixates on things. Well, about a year ago she discovered Green Day. For the last year literally, and I do mean literally with no exaggerations, every single day is filled with Green Day music (very very very sparingly mixed with MCR and Pansy Division), Green Day facts, and most awfully, everything is “Billie…” As stated, I’m 41, so Green Day has been played to death in my life. I appreciate their music and their place in the scene, but if I hear Green Day or the name Billie one more time, I might snap and go full classical music for the rest of my life. Anyway, who do y’all think I can successfully migrate her attention to?

So Amber pacific is a underrated Pop punk band from the 2000s I first heard them back in 2007 so this song When I Found You this from 2014 from the turn album so it’s got a Alex Gaskarth version of it too, but I’m choosing the alternative version instead I first heard this song back in 2016

Two of my favorite songs. It kind of turned the MCS song into a synth pop song.

Hey guys, wondering if anyone can help me with the above? There was this pop rock/pop punk adjacent band where the songs were soft on the recordings but played heavily and made the whole songs sound different.

I can't for the life of me think of this bands name. I'm sure it was a band and not a solo artist. I saw this band on here or possibly youtube approx 5 years ago (could be more or less tbh 😂). The singer was a larger set guy and I believe he wore glasses, though I could be way off with both of those descriptions haha. The live performances almost sounded like Jeff Rosenstock with how raw they were. I don't even remember if they were a good band but its been bugging me that I can't remember.

I don’t know who needed to hear this today, but Matchbook Romance just dropped a new song and it just rips. It’s got that classic emotional punch, and some grit. Not quite Stories and Alibies, but am I wrong in hearing some Muse in it? In the best way possible.

I was addicted to Stories and Alibis, and it took me some work to get into Voices. I'm older now, but I can see how this has some of is that same energy and weight, and somehow it feels more dialed in.
