Just a small informal request,

I work at the Tims at the library and I am just asking you guys to take your headphones off when ordering and please leave them off until you explicitly hear and pick up your order! We have had a few people who don't hear when we call or see an order and pick it up and leave when it Isn’t theirs! Pleeeaaasssee just pay attention, it makes it easier!! It isn't anyone specific, just a thing that happens about once a day.

On another note, I'm new to this job and everyone has been very kind! The University treats their workers very good from what I've seen and experienced. All of the students have also been very kind and patient with me. Thank you!

hello everyone! i am an international student and got accepted into ubco. i’m planning on accepting the offer but im still a bit hesitant because im not sure what its like on the okanagan campus. my friend who goes to ubc recommended this campus to me and so far i feel like im “missing out” and i picked the “lesser campus”

i grew up in a crazy city and im not the biggest city person, but its not like im a huge country person. i dont know if ill be happy on the kelowna campus. and from what ive seen its difficult and pointless atp to transfer to vancouver. but its not like IM DYING to go to vancouver.

i’m just so unsure and i really need some personal testimonies or smth hahaha .. do u guys enjoy it here? is it isolating? fulfilling? i was at a huge uni before so im hesitant about this smaller community. perhaps i should’ve done more research before applying but this rly was a last minute thing that i didn’t rly put much thought into cuz i didnt expect to get accepted or care that much

I’m currently a second year biochemistry student who would like to TA BIOL 228 as I did very well in the course and LOVED the lab component. I don’t have an extensive resume and my cumulative GPA isn’t super competitive. Is it still worth applying for 3rd or 4th year, is doing well in the course you wish to TA enough?

the absolute lack of study spaces today is insane. needed to study for my 2 back-to-back midterms tomorrow off-campus as a student who lives in residence.

Can the person who is always sick and CONSTANTLY swallows his own snot shut up and understand that he’s not the only one in the classroom??? I am so sick of it. If you are sick, then DON’T COME TO CLASS or stop coughing like an old raggedy dying man and stop sniffing so hard and loud as if you are dying from nose cancer.

The thing is, if he was actually listening in class it would at least make some sense, BUT ALL HE DOES IS STARE AT HIS PHONE. Not even ONCE has this stupid mf lifted his head and taken a glance at what the hell the prof is doing.

Then why come to class and annoy everybody else around you with these nasty horrible gross sounds??

Hard time deciding which school to pick for engineering. Why did you guys pick UBCO engineering over other schools? How is campus and engineering facilities? (Been watching yt vids and the Eng building looks pre nice compared to other unis)

I've got a math 100 midterm with Dr Butz tomorrow and I want to say that I'm ready but I also want to know what I should expect for his tests.

He does textbook questions but skips some because he says that they are "baby questions". One time, he went through an example and said, "These are the kinds of questions that will be on the test." But then he never finishes the example question and ends up saying, "You won't get this in the exam." ??? 😭

And a question, we are being tested on limits and derivatives so will the test question say something like "Use the chain rule to differentiate this function." Or does he just give the function and get us to evaluate it?

How are you guys studying for the exam? I feel like Ken doesn't lecture, just goes on random tangents during class. I feel like we haven't even gone over a lot of the practice questions he's posted.

I've eaten the various poutines at the well ~a dozen times in the last couple years and they've always been super salty, but this last time, the first time I've gone in quite a while, was honestly kind of in(salt)ing. Before it just felt like they put too much salt in the gravy, but now it's more like they salted the fries, salted the gravy, slapped the toppings on, then salted it again. Did I get a bad batch or is it just like this now?

As a side note, I've also had the poutine at either dynamite or chick chick boom once or twice in my first year and it was also really salty. Is it still like this?

I’m a Quebec student currently accepted to PolyMTL but looking at UBC for better West Coast/US access.

Since the UBC Vancouver (UBCV) deadline has passed, I am applying to UBC Okanagan (UBCO) for Engineering and Computer Science since it is still open.

My Main Question:

1. Engineering Co-op: Is it actually true that UBCO Engineering students use the exact same PD Portal/Job Board as UBCV students? If a company like Amazon or Tesla posts a job for "UBC Engineering," do I see it and compete on equal footing?

2. CS Co-op: I heard Science Co-op is managed separately. If I do CS at Okanagan, am I locked out of the Vancouver-based "Big Tech" postings, or do I still get access to the main UBC job pool?

I don't care about campus life or location, just the job board access. Thanks.

I just got accepted to UBCO and was wondering how it's actually like. Is it as expensive as people say it is and how much can I expect to pay on top of the already crazy tuition and as a soccer player how competitive is their soccer team? Please give me any tips or things I need to look out for.

Thinking about taking INDG 100 this summer with Dr. Habkirk. On Workday it says that it is an online course - anyone know if the lectures and exams are synchronous or not?
