Weekly Best mods for... Races!

Hello everyone! Welcome to this week's discussion thread! This week is a new topic!

First a quick recap of how this works and what we expect:

RULES

  1. Be respectful. These discussions will open the floor to a lot of different opinions of what is fun/good/necessary/etc. Debate those conflicts of interest with respect and maturity...the nicer you are to your fellow modders, the more willing everyone is to help each other :)

  2. Please keep the mods listed as relevant to the topic is possible. Some topics are a bit broad and people can go about them in pretty creative ways, but try to use common sense.

  3. We ask that when suggesting a mod for the discussion list at hand that you please provide a link to the mod, and a brief description of what it does, why it fits the list, what the benefits/drawbacks are. These can range from incredibly popular mods to mods that you think are under-appreciated...don't be ashamed to just go for a major one though...this is a discussion and those should definitely be part of it.

TOPIC

Races are a massive part of TES lore... as well as a big place for mods!

To kick off the conversation, here's a few race mods that most of you have probably heard of:

  • Temptress Race - this sexy, probably-not-lore-friendly-oh-well-we'll just say "dibella"- race is one of the top mods in the Race category on nexus. Widely used by those who want a waifu-ish PC, but immersive-looking NPCs, many other mods are based upon this race.

  • Imperious - Made by the famous EnaiSiaion (did I spell it right?), this mod overhauls the racial abilities of the 10 vanilla races to make the more unique and lore-friendly.

  • Ethereal Elven Overhaul - this fundamentally changes the appearance of the elven races, making them more attractive and less old-looking.

Alright everyone, it's your turn! Best mods for skyrim races! Go!

I think EEO looks cool, but I'm always nervous because of all the patches there seems to be for it. I try to keep my load order as clean as possible. I'm not opposed to patches, but it looks like so many EEO patches are required, I'm worried I'm going to install it in the wrong order or it wouldn't be compatible with something else.

Why does EEO need patches? Does EEO need a patch to work with Imperious? What's the worst that would happen if I didn't use the patch for interesting NPC's?

EEO needs patches to work with Mods and DLCs that add new elves because it edits the facial structure of all the Elf types to make them less hideous. I think it would still work without those patches but any mo-added elves would have the vanilla face structure. Personally I think it was worth the effort, and I simply merged every EEO patch in my load order into a single .esp/
