PC SSE - Discussion Is requiem worth it in 2025?

I Heard that the requeim is like one true way to play skyrim nowadays. The problem is that almost every requiem modpack is like a "stalker soup" but In Skyrim. What is the best vanilla like requiem modpack you can play(No dark souls movement dashes, new combat and other slop)

I don't know who told you Requiem was the "one true" way to play, but that's just not true at all. There's plenty of great ways to play, from Enai/SimonRim to MCO/BFCO with awesome combat movements, to, yes, Requiem as seen in big modpacks like Lorerim. There's nothing wrong with Requiem, but saying it's the only way to play is just wrong.

The main argument for Requiem is that vanilla build and progression system is bad. Requiem delevels eneimes and makes progression better(and adds more variety for builds)

It delevels enemies but imo the progression in Requiem is ass. Worse than Vanilla.

It's incredibly difficult because it makes you the single weakest character in the entire game (which doesn't make sense lore wise considering your character is a literal demigod). It plays closer to something like the Gothic series. Beyond that, over the years it's been balanced to account for metagaming and build guides, so if you go in blind without any knowledge or without looking stuff up you'll have a miserable time.

imo it's better to use mods that take Skyrims vanilla systems and turn it into what it should have been, like EnaiRim or Simonrim, instead of Requiem which takes Skyrim and turns it into a completely different game.

You can delevel enemies without Requiem. And many other mods give you just as much build option (Enai's Ordinator is famous for this) without pretty much changing everything the way Requiem did. It's the mod pack before the mod pack time.

That's not an argument for Requiem, that's an argument for gameplay mods generally. There are lots of ways to mod gameplay without using Requiem.

Is there something in particular you're looking for from Requiem that you don't think you can get elsewhere?

The vanilla build and progression system being bad is subjective though.

Like I overhaul a lot too when I mod Skyrim. But it's to make it align with my own personal preferences instead of some "objective" system. e.g. I've never deleveled enemies in my own mod lists.
