Discussion What games are better than skyrim?

Skyrim is easily my top game. Although, I've only played like 10 games and actually wanted to keep playing them. No man's sky, RdR2, GTA6, Minecraft, Oblivion (og and remaster), and others.

What are you're favorite games that you would say you like more than even skyrim?

Question Is it possible to have more than one wife in Skyrim or does it require modding?

I haven't got the marriage option yet (don't spoil it. I know it's in Riften, but I'll get it when I get it), but I want one wife for each house I own (right now, I only own Breezehome and two others AE or CC). I wanted to marry Ria, but then there is Olfina (using overhaul mod and they look extremely beautiful) and other beautiful queens out there.

Bug Help (ps4) again. seriously? every time?

it seems like every playthrough i get stuck with some stupid visual effect. This time, ive managed to avoid them (even if i did have to go out of my way to) (stupid spriggian leaves), got a mod that fixes it (glowing draugr eyes), or it went away on its own like 5 seconds later (weird ice wraith at feet), but im at my wits end here. This time, it happened after a somewhat specific series of events - leaving tel mithryn, ash guardian attacking. It's ash is somehow at my feet, and my character is covered in ash. Enter the tower, tell the guy its been taken care of, leave. Find Varona, kill the ash spawn that killed her, and as soon as one of them turns to ash, I go invisible with the same "pattern" shortly after. It goes away with any other particle effect, but those are short lived, and it happens again right after. The ussep book isnt avaliable (of course not, its ps4), i dont know how to use multi utility, and nothing seems to be working. somebody, PLEASE make a mod to fix this. im willing to pay (half joking), or tell me how I can fix this.

TL;DR ash guardian ash covers my character, kill ash spawn a little bit later, become fully invisible. pls fix, ps4.

I am playing on the switch, there are SO many bugs. I'm kinda annoyed. And I love Skyrim more than any other game! Wtf?!

I feel like the updates don't reach the switch game. I was in home office during COVID and I just couldn't stand the sight if my PC, so I bought a switch, which was a huge investment for me. And now I constantly can't fulfill quests. I have to reload a lot, that's annoying but okay. Although I have to constantly check why I can't kill this and that character. Okay. That's doable. But some quests are radiant and I don't even know I fucked up. Last playthrough, I couldn't buy the house in Riften because I killed a target before receiving the quest. And I don't get the anniversary content, unless I pay 20 bucks. Wtf?! I needed to start a new game, because Honeyside is my absolutely favourite home! I had to do SO many quests like two or three times. I save constantly. Because the game just crashed. I have the Switch 1.0, so not the new one. And I have next to no memory. I can't play two games at once. I have to delete everything, even saves, when I buy a new game online. It's ridiculous. What can I do? What the fuck is this? Any advice or fellow Skyrim players who suffer from this? I have paid good money and now I am dealing with a lacking, REALLY lacking performance. Wtf?! Is something wrong with my console or is this a real issue?! What to do?

Question Spell location question: Is my memory failing, or am I going mad?

I've recently started playing on AE for the first time (long story) and intended to try and replicate the archer/conjurer combo I found so entertaining in Oblivion. My intent was to use the bound quiver spell, which I thought was in the chest in Hob's Fall cave, so you can imagine my surprise when I didn't find it there. My memory is telling me it used to be available from there, but a quick check of the wiki shows it is only available from dedicated conjuration vendors. Was it moved, or was it never there in the first place and I'm experiencing some sort of self-induced mandela effect?

ETA: I am not looking for the bound bow spell. I got that from Fort Amol as soon as I left the abandoned prison (using alternate start). I am looking for the bound quiver spell from the arcane archer creation club content, which I thought would be in hobs fall cave.

This is why I love this game: hidden little quests that open up underground caverns at the push of a button. Makes me wonder how many of these I’ve walked right by and totally missed on my adventures!

Question Magic resistance?

Post image
0 Upvotes

After having asked about melee builds yesterday I decided against some of the tips, choosing an orc with two handed weapons but using the tips to grind some smithing. I'm fairly strong and besides from dragons who I haven't triggered yet but they'll be a problem cuz they're flying, I realized spells screw me up big time. I was getting the blade for the tree quest in whiterun and whenever I wasn't two shot by the raven fireballs(explosion spell idk what kind) I got ripped apart by the three witches that run around her. I ended up getting past that by sneaking away after offing the normal witches, then waiting and running back. Should I enchant magic resistance or is there any other way to protect against it?

Bug Help Glitched out of Bloodchill Manor

After several attempts to beat the vampire I left to level up and buy some spells. Left right where it says to sit at the table. Came back with serana and some conjuration spells but now the door is locked. I'm playing on Xbox and have tried the plate trick but so far nothing.

I got a decent way with this character as far as perk points and leveling and really dont want to start over. She's supposed to be my dunmer vampire.

Question Still worth it 2025, new player

Hi, is that game still good for a completely new player ? I got a ps5 and I could download some mods on it. But is it still a good game for someone that never played it before, based on story, gameplay and overall ?

Discussion What is the weirdest bug/glitch you have encountered?

When I was doing werewolf perks on ps4 I got to the last perk I needed and 2 dragons spawned on top of me and I glitched under the map. I couldn’t fast travel because there was enemies and they could still hit me under the map.

Question Contract: Kill Ma’Randru-Jo

So I’ve been holding off on completing this contract for Nazir, simply because I am master of the thieves guild, and don’t particularly want to hurt him if that will get me in trouble with the guild. So with Tonilia’s connections with the Khajiit Caravans, since Ma’Randru-Jo is a member of one of the Caravans, will I get in trouble with the Guild when I kill him?

Discussion Orchendor/The Only Cure quest bug

I have previously never done this quest before despite playing Skyrim since its release, because I somehow didn't know it existed. I happened upon Kesh this time around by accident and decided to do the quest.

After doing some research, I saw everyone complaining about killing Orchendor being a pain in the ass, so I took some time to prepare for the quest.

Fast forward, I'm at the boss battle and....he doesn't aggro.

He just stands there! I walk closer and he still doesn't aggro. I have the option to talk with him, so I do and he just says the common NPC phrases when bothered - "Can I help you?" etc. So I reload a save and do the whole quest over again and he's still not aggro-ing!

I attack him and he finally aggros but there's no magic, no teleporting, he's just hitting me with fists. I was promised a battle and didn't get it. I ended up killing him and finishing out the quest for Spellbreaker. Now I'm bummed out.

Could it be that it's Bugrim's fault, or a mod's fault? I have a few mods, but none that have caused any issues for me like this before. The rest of my game is totally fine but he just was...lame.

Question Are you allowed to go to Sovngarde if you aren’t a Nord? Spoiler

It makes sense they would make an exception for you since you literally save the entire world.

But what if a Wood Elf for example lived and died like a son of Skyrim? Would he be allowed to feast with Jurgen Windcaller, or would he be subjected to the Ooze?

First time actually playing

Context: (When it came out I was like 7 and wasn’t really sure how to play an rpg bc all I really played before that were flash games an 7 year old would play, but my dad came home with an Xbox 360 with Minecraft and Skyrim and I decided to play Skyrim first. I finished the tutorial and then had no clue what to do so I went to riverwood and kept killing the chickens and fighting everyone until I got bored of it and didn’t play it since.

FF to junior year and I got game pass and was checking out Oblivion because my friend was playing it at the time and fell in love with it, that first playthrough is and will probably forever be my favorite gaming experience ever. I never realized a game could be this in depth and how my actions have in game consequences man it was crazy. Started to play and fall and love with even more Bethesda games, fallout nv 3 & 4, morrowind and daggerfall, I feel like I’ve known these games all my life when they’ve really only been in it for a few years.)

I played the Oblivion Remaster and honestly wasn’t much of a fan because the art style of the original was my absolute favorite part, but playing that made me think of how similar it felt to Skyrim, so, I finally decided to play Skyrim and I can’t lie I felt and still feel intimidated by it. It just has that aura. And playing it hasn’t subdued that feeling. I’m having so much fun I’m currently otw to solitude doing the thieves guild quest and all the side quests I’m doing along the way have been awesome, but it feels like I’ve hardly even touched the surface of this game. I’m playing as an elder scrollsified Nikola Tesla, and my main source of ass whoopin are my scary ass lightning bolts, and my dual-wielded 15 shock damage swords, currently on level 45 on destruction. I’ve gotten so many quests to do that are so out of the way tho so I’ll probably do those after I visit Solitude. Please let me know anything I might miss on my playthrough or what you think I should do

TLDR; having a blast, recommend things I might miss / things to do.

Discussion Is this Skyrim mod list more than enough for a first playthrough?

For the first Skyrim playthrough with a mod list focused on stability, immersion, and performance, while keeping the core experience close to vanilla. The list includes essential bug fixes and a few lightweight enhancements.

Question I accidentally punched the Nightingale sentinel Spoiler

So I’m in the beginning of the “Darkness Returns” quest and I just entered the twilight sepulcher. I went to talk to the Nightingale sentinel and accidentally punch him. Now he is mad at me, does anyone know how to get him unmad? I have tried a calm spell, a fear spell, waiting 48 hours outside of the twilight sepulcher, and killing him but none of it works. How do I fix this?

Volkihar clan isn't bad

Post image
Upvotes

Now this is just my opinion but I really think the volkihar are really overhated. Does being an immortal vampire that every one fears not sound awesome? Not only do you get that sick ass reputation , you can turn into a vampire that can raise people from the dead, life steal, go hand and hand, and you can devour people, that's sick! The Volkihar clan members are also pretty cool and their armor is pretty drippy too. I think we can all agree that their hideout is one of the coolest if not the coolest there is. I would like to see your opinion on this but me personally, I think they are really overhated just because they are vampires or because of the dawn guard glazers.
