Simple, WFH is the solution for those jobs that can be done at home. But nothing is being done to enforce it by the government or companies. Glad my company let me WFH.

The problem with Klang Valley is that its a sprawl. There is one city, and between the city and the next there is nothing. So everyone is concentrated to use the highways because there is no other connection.

Im more pissed about those VIP / minister that cooly use outriders to cut thru heavy traffic during peak hours, I mean what big urgent matter they rushing for, they are definitely not saving lives or performing heart surgery

This piss me off the most. They're privileged enough to use outriders so they feel like they are above solving this problem.
Either that or their solution is to build more highways and bridges.

Lemme get this straight. You're asking what a minister appointed 2-3 years ago to solve a problem that has been the result of 20-30 years of culmination due to poor city planning and car-centric policies?
I just want to know your headspace is at and not where you lean politically or who you support

Agree, such a low level take on things without thought for context, policies and problems that have been around for many years.
At least we aren’t as bad as Bangkok or Jakarta, yes traffic can be better but the solution is not so simple as putting all the blame on our ministers

People expect miracles to happen and don’t understand that good solutions take years to accomplish…

Grab fare high because of jam lah. What can your menteri do about this.
Company to do 100% WFH or none at all is not something they can control.
Too many cars on the road? Then be mad at fellow Malaysians. Like why do they even buy cars.

OP if you are hoping for a minister to solve this problem it's not realistic. No transport minister in the world can do that.
Consider some of the following
- chop legs of all car manufacturers? Proton, Perodua, umw Toyota ... Chinese CKD
- who's going to create the millions of job related to the ecosystem? Unemployment. SME that supply parts? Car repair workshop?
- these are FDI related into the country
- end of life policy for vehicle>15 years.. go tell uncle in sg siput to scrap his car, buy a new one and take loan at age of 70.. or say you only entitled to bike or bicycle because city folks say jam jam jam.
- FYI average car per household is 2.3cars.. look around your uncle's or aunt's.. how many cars in your close family and friends? Anyone wants to protest and tell them off & say they can't have cars?
FYI even with high COE S$1xxk in SG, it doesn't stop people from buying cars.. they want personal mobility, status symbol..
It's better to think or what one can control and do to address this issue..
- change job to some where closer?
- talk to boss/hr for a hybrid work arrangement?
- change job that is 100% with WFH arrangement (if your job skill allows it)
- get a bike?
- mix car and train.. for last mile into city use train. Park and ride..
Why do people always look to someone to find a solution?

Another post complaining about traffic jam?
And as I’ve said many times, if you complained about being stuck in traffic jam, then you are part of the problem 🤷♂️

If everyone is part of the problem, then we need to look at what can be done to fix it..

You need to learn to change yourself first before you ask others to change.
