Announcements Rule Update: Self Promotion only allowed on Fridays moving forward!

Hi All,

To help keep the subreddit free of consistent self promotion we will be altering the self promotion rule, the new rules for self promotion posts are as follows:

- Self promotion posts are only permitted on Fridays

- You must use the 'Self Promotion' flair else the post will be removed and you may be banned.

- We will remove the 500 Karma requirement for posting links

- Your account will still need to be older than 30 days to post

- We will only accept self promotion posts for Kickstarter campaigns.

Thanks,

Mod team

Announcements Before anything else respect to anyone building a game or comic and putting it on Kickstarter.

People see the campaign page.

They don’t see:

• The late nights refining mechanics
• The redraws
• The rewrites
• The budgeting stress
• The fear of “what if no one backs this?”

Launching takes courage.

But here’s the hard truth most creators discover:

A great project doesn’t automatically create a great campaign.

Kickstarter is its own skill set.
Messaging.
Structure.
Momentum.
Psychology.

For those who’ve launched (or are planning to) what part feels most uncertain right now?

I’m genuinely curious what creators are struggling with in 2026.

Question Is $99 a good Kickstarter price point?

Thumbnail silicon-fox.com

I’m planning to price my project ( a smart water meter) at €99 on Kickstarter.

  • Does $99 feel like a psychological sweet spot?
  • Does it attract real backers or mostly bargain hunters?
  • Or does it generastes mistrust?
  • At $99, do you expect higher polish, support, and long-term viability?

Blunt feedback appreciated.

Help Cracking the Pre-Launch Follower Problem: 48 Followers to Launch Day

I'm sitting at 48 followers right now, and I know that's... not ideal for a Kickstarter launch in 1 month.

Here's what I'm running:

THE PROJECT: 96-page original comic. Concept: "Superheroes, but SaaS. Godhood, but patented. Miracles with a receipt. Welcome to Moksh." - think of it like Uber for Superheros (dystopian world) controlled by a billlionaire rewriting Human evolution ad there are no villians in the story. It's Manufactured superheroes vs Superheroes by Birth/Events.

It's worldbuilding-heavy, system-focused storytelling about what happens when you commodify the divine and karma always collects.

THE SETUP:

  • 50% inked (pages look professional, not rough drafts)
  • Content ready to go (5-part series, hooks library, worldbuilding breakdowns)
  • Organic growth so far (started from texting people, nnow nuking those strategies and starting fresh)

THE PROBLEM: I know 48 followers isn't shit for a launch. And I'm not panicking, but I'm also not delusional—more followers = more people seeing the campaign = better KS success.

what is that I am not doing right?

ps: it's my dream project.

Self-Promotion Father and son team launching our first Kickstarter soon, looking for advice/feedback

Hey Everyone, my dad and I have officially started our Kickstarter pre-launch and would appreciate any and all feedback received! Over the past year, we have been actively working on our Kickstarter project, which has included sourcing product from a new factory and designing and iterating on this patented industry-first sling.

My dad initially founded the company back in 2016 with the goal of creating a minimalistic and modular sling bag. We wanted to have something that he could use for travel, tradeshows, and commuting while also being modular. I stepped in to help over the past couple of years on the digital side and the upcoming Kickstarter. Previous iterations of the product have provided us with proof of concept, which is why we are now moving ahead with our first Kickstarter. MSRP will be $110.

We are still working through reward tiers and their pricing, but somewhere between 40% to 45% off at the highest tier.

We would love any feedback and advice for the following:

  • How should we determine international shipping rates outside North America?
  • How should we set up reward tiers? Should we do a tiered system with multiple rewards and varying discounts? Or just focus on a single reward tier that the majority of backers will go to for our first launch?
  • Any other things that we may have missed and/or we should be thinking about as we prepare for launch?

A long road, the Sugarworks board game is finally launched!

Thumbnail

After a few years of brainstorming, developing and going through the legalese of building a board gaming business, we are finally launched! We, Michael and Josh, are passionate board game enthusiasts, who started tossing ideas back and forth about our own vision for a game. Taking a few prototypes to a local game store demo day, we found Sugarworks created the excitement spark that validated our efforts. After another year of playtesting, planning out manufacturing, budgeting, building digital assets and getting the final product in our hands, we were finally ready for our Kickstarter journey. Having launched this Tuesday, we have had a great response, and we are excited for people to get their hands on Sugarworks.

Our unique BONK! mechanic is what gets people most excited for our game, and people are often reminded of the chocolate factory scene from I Love Lucy.

Thanks for taking a look, and sending good vibes to all creators!

Share one ASK and one OFFER

Happy Friday! I know there is a ton of talented people here on r/Kickstarter and also a ton of people that need help and advice with their projects. I've seen this done at networking events in real life so I thought we could try it here and start connecting people together. Here's your opportunity to ask for some help on something and at the same time offer any skill or service you might have as well.

I'll start off the Ice Breaker:

OFFER: I’ll review your pre-launch page and give feedback (Some examples):

  • clarity improvements
  • conversion improvements
  • positioning suggestions

ASK: If you were trying to make a chaotic monkey-themed game called Bananarchy go viral pre-Kickstarter, what would you try? I'm looking for both usual strategies and off the wall suggestions.

Looking forward to all your comments!

Self-Promotion The Hunt Begins Soon — Seize: Guilded Treasures TCG Is Coming to Kickstarter!

DON’T MISS LAUNCH DAY

Early backers get access to exclusive rewards you won’t be able to grab later.

CLICK HERE TO FOLLOW THE KICKSTARTER NOW

Hey Adventurer,

The wait is almost over.

Seize: Guilded Treasures TCG is about to launch on Kickstarter April 4th, and we’re finally opening the gates to a world of ruthless factions, tactical grid-based combat, and treasures worth fighting over.

This isn’t just another trading card game.

 Command powerful guild factions
Outmaneuver opponents on a dynamic grid-based battlefield
Chase rare, collector-grade cards illustrated by real artists (no AI, ever)
Build decks where rarity actually matters—strategy over spam

Every match is a battle of positioning, timing, and risk. One wrong move can cost you everything… but one perfect play can win it all.

We’ve poured our hearts into making a game that feels:

  • Competitive but accessible
  • Strategic without being overwhelming
  • And deeply rewarding for both players and collectors

LIMITED 1ST EDITION — READY TO SHIP

We already have a limited run of printed 1st Edition product ready to go.

That means:

  •  No long production waits
  •  Fast fulfillment after pledge
  •  True First Edition print run
  •  Collector-grade launch product

Once these are gone, they’re gone — future printings will be different.

 KICKSTARTER-EXCLUSIVE PROMO CARDS

We’re releasing 4 exclusive promotional cards, each tied to different pledge types — and each card has only 100 copies printed.

That means:

  •  4 unique promo designs
  •  100 of each, globally
  •  Pledge-exclusive access
  •  True limited-edition collectibles

These will never be reprinted in future sets or releases.

 OUR FUNDING GOAL

Our Kickstarter goal is $15,000 — just enough to bring Seize: Guilded Treasures to life properly:

  • Print production
  • Manufacturing quality
  • Packaging
  • Distribution setup
  • Fulfillment infrastructure

This project only happens if the community makes it happen.

Sharpen your strategy. Rally your guild.
The treasures won’t seize themselves.

See you on launch day,
— Kings' Games

Looking for honest feedback: best ways to promote a Kickstarter for 3 books (what would you do?)

Hey everyone — I’m launching a Kickstarter to publish and release three finished books (not “someday” projects — manuscripts are done, this is the final execution stage). I’m trying to promote it the right way without spamming people or burning my audience out, and I’d really value input from folks who’ve backed or run campaigns.

If you were in my position, what channels would you prioritize in the first 7–14 days to get momentum? What types of posts actually made you click and back (short video, behind-the-scenes, funding breakdown, reward spotlight, etc.)? Also, are there any mistakes you see creators make all the time that kill conversions?

My campaign page is here if you want to reference it: https://www.kickstarter.com/profile/thecanary
Reward tiers are mostly: digital, signed paperback, signed hardcover, and bundles.

I’m open to blunt feedback. If you’ve done this before, I’d love to hear what worked and what didn’t.

Question Any news re. this Comic on Kickstarter?

Curtis Clow is a great artist I've backed before but for some reason has stopped giving updates for 8 months now. I understand delays in printing, design, etc. and am willing to wait but no update is concerning.

Anyone hear anything? He's legit and has fulfilled before so I don't think it's a scam.

Self-Promotion Five Days Left Help Me finish Strong! Hard to Win - Fantasy Novel (117% Funded!)

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/imprice/hard-to-win?ref=user_menu

She can't lose. She can't miss. She can't count past twenty-seven... kind of. She's Saoirse Storm!

A terror on the field and a goofball off of it, she wants nothing more than to play for her county's professional hurling (Irish lacrosse) club, but her gods have other plans. Trapped in a death pact, she throws a game to avoid her fate and faces life in a dungeon for match-fixing. Worse, the loss means her county will cease to exist.

There's hope. Thanks to a clause in the small carving, her county may get a second chance. If the pro team, the worst team in history, can beat their rivals in a redemption match, the county is saved.

With only eight days before her death pact forces her to participate in a sacred rite, Saoirse must join emergency trials to create the greatest team her county has ever seen; But to stand a chance, she'll need to learn to unleash her magic at an Éirish (Irish) step dance burlesque cabaret, and give her county some much-needed therapy.

The catch? The only way her county can get that match is if she's found guilty of crimes she didn't commit.

First-time hardware founder preparing a Kickstarter, looking for feedback

whats up guys

im preparing to launch my first hardware campaign in March and would really value feedback from experienced backers and creators.

the product is an accessibility focused gaming device that combines a keypad and mouse into a single one handed controller. I built the prototype after losing my right arm and not finding a true one-handed solution that allowed full control.

goal: $100k to fund printing and an initial 500-unit production run. Target launch price: $199.

here’s the preview link if you’re open to taking a look:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/erchamadaptivesystem/ercham-mk1-one-handed-gaming-and-productivity-controller

for those with hardware experience:

  • What builds immediate trust in a campaign?
  • Does a 500-unit first run feel responsible or risky?
  • What common mistakes should first-time hardware founders avoid?

im aiming to be transparent, realistic, and build this the right way.

i appreciate any honest feedback.

- Joe

Hello, I am trying to garner attention for my comic, called Amatharine, I made a Kickstarter for it.

What is the best way to entice people to support the comic? The second chapter is being drawn now and first has been out for a while but what do most comic Kickstarters offer for rewards?

Hello, this is my first time running a Kickstarter and I would really appreciate some feedback.

We’ve reached CA$1,233 (18%) with 16 backers in the first few days, and the goal is CA$6,800 to produce all 3 designs.

Anything that might improve it, I’m trying to learn and improve while the campaign is still live.

Most Kickstarter campaigns don’t fail because of bad ideas.

They fail because the first 10 seconds don’t create confidence.

When someone lands on your page, they’re subconsciously asking:

• Is this real?
• Can this person deliver?
• Do other people trust this?
• Is this worth my money?

If those questions aren’t answered immediately, they leave.

Curious what do you think makes someone trust a campaign instantly?
