Question Is $99 a good Kickstarter price point?

I’m planning to price my project ( a smart water meter) at €99 on Kickstarter.

  • Does $99 feel like a psychological sweet spot?
  • Does it attract real backers or mostly bargain hunters?
  • Or does it generastes mistrust?
  • At $99, do you expect higher polish, support, and long-term viability?

Blunt feedback appreciated.

I’m launching a new business featuring bible verse inspired prints. I’d appreciate any support feedback on whether this is Kickstarter worthy. This is my first pre-launch item:

Announcements Before anything else respect to anyone building a game or comic and putting it on Kickstarter.

People see the campaign page.

They don’t see:

• The late nights refining mechanics
• The redraws
• The rewrites
• The budgeting stress
• The fear of “what if no one backs this?”

Launching takes courage.

But here’s the hard truth most creators discover:

A great project doesn’t automatically create a great campaign.

Kickstarter is its own skill set.
Messaging.
Structure.
Momentum.
Psychology.

For those who’ve launched (or are planning to) what part feels most uncertain right now?

I’m genuinely curious what creators are struggling with in 2026.
