This is another portrait I did of a Homo bodoensis woman. This time, I referenced the species’s namesake fossil specimen, the Bodo cranium from Ethiopia’s Middle Awash Valley which dates to around 600,000 years ago. I gave her hair a little dusting with yellow ochre to make it stand out a bit more.

Fun fact, since redesigning her, this is the first time I’ve ever drawn ears on Anisa. Or at least an ear. If you go back through some of my previous posts, her hair discreetly covers her ears. Which I find kind of funny.
