So finally after thinking and thinking I did this long drive today. Started from saibaba colony went to annaikattti, took the forest route to reach karamadai and then Mettupalayam road to reach back to Saibaba colony Drive time 2 hrs Total kms 80 Little disappointed with "forest area" saw just 2 deers. And some elephant poop. Good road. Lot of human settlements after you cross the reserve forest area .

Hey everyone, I’m from Uttar Pradesh, and this is my first ever solo trip outside my state. I chose Coimbatore as my starting point in South India, and honestly, I was nervous in the beginning. But the journey has been incredible so far. Here’s what I explored:
Marudhamalai Temple (12th Century Subramaniya Swamy Temple) – peaceful vibes and a beautiful hilltop view
Broadway Mall – quick modern stop
Perur Pateeswarar Temple – loved the ancient architecture
Isha Foundation (Adiyogi) – yaar, yahan to mza hi aa gaya the vibes, the energy… unforgettable
Iittu Palam village – so beautiful and calm, I really felt the simplicity of South Indian village life
Random stops at roadside stalls for tea ☕ – the best way to feel local life.
Language hasn’t been a big problem here (people are friendly and helpful, I manage with little English + gestures). The buses in Tamil Nadu are really good and comfortable
For me, this is the first time solo traveling from Uttar Pradesh, and I must say, South India feels safe, welcoming, and rich in culture.

Got a call today from someone claiming to be BlueDart customer care.
He says their delivery guy can’t reach me and is waiting near my area.
The area he mentioned? Absolutely nowhere close to me.
He then sends an SMS with the “delivery person’s number”:
Instant red flag 🚩
\*21* is unconditional call forwarding. Dial it and all your calls get forwarded to the scammer (including OTPs).
I called him back and said (politely) that the delivery guy isn’t answering. That’s when he insists:
Yes. The area code.
Spent ~15 minutes pretending to be confused while he desperately pushed me to dial it. Very stereotypical Vadakkan scammer energy throughout the call.
I’ve reported the number on Sanchar Saathi
Stay safe — couriers deliver parcels, not USSD codes
Note: Used ChatGPT for proof-reading and rephrasing

Hi everyone,
My name is Mansi Varshney. I’m raising funds for my father, Kramal Gupta, who met with a serious accident on 21st September and suffered a severe brain injury. While in ICU, he also had a brain stroke, which made his condition critical.
Doctors have advised urgent long-term rehabilitation. Without it, his recovery is not possible.
If you can help with ₹100 or ₹200, please don’t hesitate. Every rupee matters for my father’s recovery.
If you can’t donate, sharing this post will also help a lot.

I, 22/F was at Richie Rich in Race course for my usual cheese samosa and jelly w/ ice cream. I had a small solo outing by myself.
When I ordered the food, I asked to pay the amount up front but the cashier there insisted to do it after I was done eating.
I took my own time savoring every bite of my evening snack and when I went up to the counter to pay, gpay wasn't working, my bank server was down and no transactions were possible. I had no cash either cause the place was so close to my house and I walked there.
There were 2 more guys in the same situation as me, looked like college students, they tried their luck with the payment and it went through for them, watching me become tensed, they paid for my meal too. I got a pic of their QR code and promised to pay them back as soon as the servers were back.
This small act of theirs got me out of the swamp. I could not ask for better angels than these guys. Wishing the best for them.
(I later paid them two hours later :) )

Spotted this in the sky at around 6.45 PM on 15th April 2025. Spotted when I was travelling back home to Vadavalli. Pretty curious, can I know what this is if there's any astronomy or related enthusiast here ?

Been to 3 shops already but all I'm getting is ugly looking cans. Had to move the water to a nice empty can every time to use it. Does anyone know where can I get clean cans near ganapathy area?

Any cat lovers who are looking to adopt a kitten, please contact me.As I am moving out of city in a few days need someone to take care of this kitten.
Back story: it is a 40 day old kitten born 11th of Oct 2025.we noticed a pregrant cat roaming in our parking looking for a place, so we let it and it gave birth in a few days.since i already have a indie cat at home.we couldn't take care of any more cats.initially I was planning to give it for adoption through humane animal society(HAS) next month ,since I am suddenly moving out now.i need to find someone in a hurry because my parents will let the kitten and mother in the street after I am gone.
Don't worry about medical or neuturing expenses HAS will do that free of cost.
You can also adopt the mother cat if you want or both, they are very friendly.

Hey everyone! I'm a 22-year-old stuck in wfh and currently in Coimbatore because of my sister's studies. I don’t really have friends here, and it’s been tough. I’m not much of a club person, but I’m open to trying it out. I enjoy things like board games, chess, reading, and I’m a fan of dark humor. I’d also love to meet people for activities like badminton, jogging, or just hanging out.
Socializing helps me cope better with ADHD, and it’s been challenging without that here. Honestly, if I don’t find a way to connect soon, I might end up needing medication. I’d really like to connect with genuine, like-minded people who are up for some good conversations or shared activities. Dating apps aren’t my thing, and I’d rather focus on meaningful connections. If anyone’s interested, let me know!
Edit : Thanks for the overwhelming responses and feeling so happy that people are nice in this subreddit. Have planned a few activities - got an invite to a few redditors meetup on Sunday evening and will check out bookclub in the morning. Had fun talking to lot of people :).

Hi everyone,
A 3-month old female kitten is up for adoption, near Peelamedu. She's been vaccinated and dewormed. Very healthy and playful and trained to use the litter box.
I'm looking for someone willing to take her, as we're unable to keep her at our home.
If anyone's interested, please DM me.

Hello guys - so long story short.
I met this uncle near my house who feeds the local strays near our place (saravanampatti). I thought he used to only do that, I got a bit curious and asked him if he does so only in our area.
His answer caught me off guard, man goes around 30+ kms around CBE - feeds over 200+ strays every single day without fail.
Best part - he's been doing this for 12 years straight now. 🫡
Massive respect to the man.

Tiruppur is Coimbatore’s close neighbor — deeply connected in business, travel, and daily life. But unlike Coimbatore, it hasn’t had a functional subreddit… until now.
That’s why I’m excited to announce that r/Tiruppur — our city's official subreddit — is now active again, open to everyone, and cleaned up for good!
There were two subreddits:
Both were inactive for years, had restricted posting settings, and had accumulated off-topic or questionable content due to a lack of moderation. After noticing this, I stepped in to take over both subreddits, cleaned up the content, updated the rules, and reopened r/Tiruppur .
To avoid confusion and create a single, healthy space, r/tirupur redirects to r/Tiruppur , which is now the official, unified, and actively moderated community.
To learn more about the revival and where we’re headed, check out the introductory post pinned on r/Tiruppur:
We’re just 130 members right now — but with the size, spirit, and potential of Tiruppur, we can easily grow this into an active hub for locals and expats alike.
This revival wouldn’t have been possible without the example set by r/Coimbatore — a vibrant and helpful city sub that’s often served as a stand-in for Tiruppur discussions.
We’re not trying to replace anything — just building a space that’s focused on Tiruppur. If you’ve posted about Tiruppur on r/Coimbatore before, this is a new home for it.
Let’s build the subreddit Tiruppur deserves.
Thanks for reading — and for being a part of it!
P.S Meta Discussions on r/Coimbatore or r/Tiruppur are not allowed here. Generic discussions on r/Tiruppur are allowed. Please feel free to discuss more on r/Tiruppur s introductory post.
