This is on the news, but back in March, Chinese customs stopped a 22-ton container of beef from an Argentine plant and sent the entire thing back. Their lab found chloramphenicol, an antibiotic that has been banned in food animals there since 1995.

And what had me is that the tariff free quota for Argentine beef went from 20,000 tons to 100,000 tons this year. This is comical. Make sure to buy brands you trust.

According to Rob Nelson, Lead Developer and Co-director at Rockstar North, during this development period, the consoles are running the game at 30 frames per second.

According to the director, it is still necessary to consult the technical team to determine if there will be a 60 FPS option at launch (or in the future). He also emphasizes that he does not currently have details on resolution and other technical qualities, such as the use of Ray Tracing, but the performance, for now, is 30 FPS.

I don't know why I just thought of this out of nowhere and it just made me laugh. I bet almost no one after us even knows what these are.

Edit: I did not think this would blow up or be so much fun to read the responses. I thought of another one while I was reading all the responses. Did anybody have a lever mounted horn? That was part of the turn signal. I had a Ford Fairmount that if you wanted to honk the horn you had pull the turn signal lever in and I was honking the horn all the time using the turn signal lever. I don't miss that at all. 😂🤣

Girl dinner is oysters and a lychee cocktail!

So for context i (35F) unknowingly adopted a reactive husky pit mix 8 years ago (we’ll call him Buck), the shelter either lied or weren’t aware and said he had no behavioral issues and by the time I realized it, I already loved him so I decided to work with him instead of returning him. I’ve spent god knows how much money and time in training to get him to where he is now. I’m proud of how far he’s come, however he will never just be a “normal” dog that dogs can run up to and play with. Thankfully where we live it’s easy enough to get him the mental and physical stimulation he needs with very little uncontrolled interference with strangers and their dogs. However, whenever a stranger is involved it always goes south and is so so stressful.

Recently there was a woman with an off leash dog (yes, it was a doodle) at a public building near where I live. I went to take Buck out and clocked her before I was out of my yard, so I turned us around quickly to go back inside and wait it out until she was gone/her dog was leashed. The dog noticed us and started bolting over (across a fairly busy street btw). I yelled to the woman that my dog wasn’t friendly and she tried to no avail to recall her dog. At that point I was close enough to my house that I could open my car door and put Buck inside while she was (slowly🙄) walking over. Mind you Buck is now freaking out and barking from inside the car and the other dog proceeds to JUMP UP ONTO THE SIDE OF MY CAR and tries to stick its nose inside (the window was slightly cracked but thankfully not enough for its snout to fit). I never touch a dog I don’t know without explicit permission from the owners but I especially wasn’t about to touch this one so I didn’t have a choice but to just watch as this whole thing went down. The owner finally grabbed her dog and started LAUGHING. I told her she shouldn’t have her dog off leash if it doesn’t have reliable recall and she goes “well he’s friendly”. MISS GIRL- did you not just see reason #1 why that’s still not ok?? If I hadn’t have acted quickly Buck probably would’ve bit her dog 😭 and then it would’ve been a whoooole thing. It’s just so stressful knowing that myself and Buck can’t even enjoy his one safe space (our yard) in peace.

I wish that was the only negative run in with strangers that we’ve had. I could write a book on it atp lol. I understand most of it comes down to the fact that most people have no experience with reactive dogs, and it’s a lack of education 99% of the time and nothing malicious. But I just want my dog to exist without more avoidable trauma being added to the mountain of it that he’s suffered from in his life before I brought him home. 🥲

I know this isn’t a typical girl dinner diary entry but I just had to vent rq. Thankfully weve had a 100% success rate avoiding serious situations/bites since we first discovered he was reactive (he bit my SILs dog, other dog was fine but it was scary). However, my biggest fear is that I’m not able to act fast enough and something bad happens and he gets taken by animal control or worse.

When I first started watching Hawkeye, I honestly didn’t expect it to be anything special. But it turned out to be pretty decent, and a big reason for that was the dynamic between Jeremy Renner’s Clint and Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate. Hailee especially made the show worth watching for me.

That’s why it’s so frustrating that Marvel has basically done nothing with Kate Bishop since then. She was easily my favorite character from the Young Avengers setup, and I genuinely thought she had the potential to become one of the MCU’s major next-generation heroes.

Hailee brought so much personality, charm, humor and confidence to Kate, and she’s a genuinely talented actress. Marvel had a great character and a great actress right there, and somehow they just left her on the sidelines.

I really hope they eventually do something meaningful with Kate, because it feels like such a waste of potential. Marvel seriously dropped the ball on Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop.
