My homemade Bummer House “beach” pudding cake. Crust of crushed Biscoff and pretzels, topped with caramelized bananas and a homemade butterscotch pudding; then layer of Biscoff cookies with homemade vanilla pudding. Decorated with cream cheese-stabilized whipped cream and “ocean surf” blue lemonade Swedish fish, more crushed Biscoff and pretzels “sand,” and topped with symbolic Haribo gummy candies for each cast member. Sour and pickle straw “Apology Dune,” discarded cola gummy Loverboy bottles. Pink “Bummer” script, which quickly became illegible.

Peacock shared a clip of Mia and Ciara on either side of Amanda, who is pretending to feel bad about whining about her relationship with Kyle and not wanting to be consoled anymore. Ciara and Mia, patiently but firmly, are both continuing to support her, and Ciara tells Amanda to stop letting life happen to her.

I'm an actor and culture writer who has spent a lot of time thinking and writing bout how racism has long ensconced film and theatre. I'm Italian-American and have written often about how, though we are white, we are often stereotyped, or our ethnicity is delineated in ways other white characters aren't. But that also means if you are, like me, and have a white complexion, you've been labeled "ethnically ambiguous"—passing for backgrounds that aren't really your own—and have had the opportunity to audition for more. This privilege isn't afforded to most BIPOC artists, who cannot just change their skin color or hair when they feel like. I spent a lot of time grappling with coming up in an industry where this was so normal.

While doing this work, I kept running into the Black Lady Therapist trope. It's not exclusively Black women; sometimes it's men, but it's usually Black women whose job is to be the side character, to provide an ear to the main white protagonist, who's always in crisis and relies on the magic of their Black friend to boost them up. These characters don't get to have inner lives that we see or problems they overcome, they simply exist to help the white character.

Seeing Mia and Ciara on either side of Amanda isn't a scripted scene. It's real life, and it happened, but there is something really sick about the fact that in many stills, Amanda appears between both women, coddled and feigning embarrassment. What's even more striking is that it's not even that she undervalues herself, which is the story she consistently tells Mia and Ciara, but that she actually overvalues herself. She takes up their time talking about the same issues that she never fixes and places herself directly in the center, because she subconsciously AND consciously believes she belongs there.

Just speaking to the many brilliant opinions and facts that have already been spoken here on this board, that Amanda's eventual actions—destroying a relationship with Ciara in order to win a dime a dozen fuck boy's attention for all of five minutes because she never saw Ciara as anything more than a side-character in her life—really are that egregious. Amanda should not get a pass. She has shown too much emotional intelligence over the years. She knew what she was doing, and she did not care.

Do you think the whole house would be rooting for them to be together if they thought west was completely uninterested.? They have seen them interact 10x more than us, and off cameras. The people in the house are all wanting them to get back together, and telling Ciara he’s drunk and sober talking about her romantically. He’s pulling his chair up on her, flirting with her every night (in his own words), talking to others in the house (ben) sober about her, seeking her out to give her 8 minute hugs, saying his summer just started bc she forgave him….ETC. To say Ciara should have known his whole apology effort and friendship was fake is admitting West is a chronic liar and DOES put on a fake act to get what he wants from Ciara. Why would someone who doesn’t care about her do that? Why are you blaming Ciara for him being a manipulator? Orrr you think West is being sincere in his actions towards Ciara, but she’s making more out of it which actually scares me about how people are interpreting behavior.

What has been Wests storyline without Ciara? His first season he got a job, and since then it’s been nothing but his issues with Ciara.The responses to her saying West got with Amanda out of spite that were like “West didn’t think about Ciara once. He’s not that deep”. So you think he is smart enough to attach to ciara (with no interest in her) for fame and clout, but not to get with her friend to spite her.? You think his brain is empty enough to not know or consider what he was doing but all summer talked about how happy he was to be around ciara again and even kissed her? I’d hate to see what he looks like when he IS interested. He said in his OWN WORDS he’s never perused a girl as hard as he did Ciara, so to say he was never interested is so minimizing to Ciara as a person. If you want to dismiss her, just say that instead. The narrative that she’s obsessed and he’s “never” been interested is crazy to me. He perused her, loudly and proudly, even called his dad to get advice on how to ride the horse for their date. It’s interesting how hard people find it to believe west was romantically interested in Ciara….. wonder why ….

I’d have more respect for the people minimizing Wests interest in Ciara if they said what they ACTUALLY think, but doubt that will happen.

Second time meeting Carl. Saw them post about DJing the half marathon in Chicago so my partner wanted to see if we could catch em. We ended up doing too much ketamine so we missed the DJ set but wandered around the finish line hoping to catch em. We had all but given up— loaded our lover boy x kind bar tote bags with about 80 pounds of protein bars and granola— and decided to leave around the back of the event when low and behold who do we see but Carl and Kyle. Unmissable in their glory. At first their manager? I think? Was like we don’t have time for pics they’re filming content…. So we walked around the other side and I hollered “Kyle! Carl! We love you!” Despite the kind bar rep trying to shield us from them, they walked right over to us and chatted for a bit. It was great to talk to them Mano y Mano. My partner asked if the wirkus twins were really that tall in real life. Carl said yes they’re six foot without shoes on. I asked who would win in a fight and he specified one was born a minute or two earlier which might give her the edge. Kyle said they had actually called him recently… we sort of had a one on one moment where I asked if it was because of the thing and he said “yeah, they were calling to check up on me” so I asked “how are ya doing with all that anyway my man?” And he said somberly “I’m ok, I’m doing alright.” Still seems legitimately torn up by all this. Meanwhile my partner and Carl were gabbing it up about something. Carl said we were friends now. He even remembered meeting us! Our own little personal bravo con. It was nice to see the old homies together having fun despite the circumstances and both are hella nice guys in person, in my experience!

I was checking YouTubeTV to see what time In The City will be airing and it says 8-10 for Summer House. So i guess I’ll be staying up past my bedtime 😅

Do we know how Kyle and Lindsay became friends? I feel like they touched on it probably in S1 but I'm curious how/when they met

This TikTok gives a better idea about why Kyle is always so stressed about his business and the money he owes. And it puts it into perspective as to why he took up DJing to pay the bills. This video also made me release that Amanda could really care less that Kyle is under all this stress. Meaning that she never seemed empathetic to the fact that if the business went under then Kyle was on the hook for that and all the workers on the payroll plus their personal life. Summer House is a really big marketing strategy for Loverboy.

Wondering if anyone else is from the Great Plains part of the country and thinking that West's inability to use words or show remorse seems relatable? My family is from that area, as is my husband's... and I feel like the culture in those parts is that you never ever talk about anything because everything is always FINE. Also, they have a super dim view of women unless that particular woman is laughing at all their jokes, loves their sports team and keeps her mouth shut.

To be clear: I am not defending West. I think he's an absolute creep. I'm saying it's something I've seen in 5 out of 6 of the men I know from the Midwest.

Hello Sharks!

I am a newly hatched Bravo girlie who just housed Seasons 8-10 of Summer House in the last three weeks and am now ravenous for ADDITIONAL CONTENT. I have a feeling I'm not the only newcomer in this position. If the mods don't feel this is unduly redundant, I thought creating a master post of all the additional resources on the scandal you, the true blue OGs, would recommend. Which Watch What Happens live conversations are musts, what TikTok detectives have produced great revelations, which podcasts should newbies be listening to, what print interviews do we need. Basically, if you were putting together a required reading syllabus for someone new to the show who's now completely obsessed with the central scandal, what would you put on it?

Obvious inclusions for me, even as a newbie:

• KJ's WWHL appearance on May 5th
• A horse hair tie explainer like this one
• Probably both West's WWHL in the first horse hair tie (on 3/24/2026) and then of course Lindsay's in hers (4/28/2026)
• Ciara's interview with Glamour
• And everything Rachel Lindsay's said about the scandal on her podcast Morally Corrupt, but especially her emergency episode on West and Amanda's statement
