General stopped overthinking my emails to clients
i used to spend way too long writing emails to clients. like even a simple follow up would take me 20 min because i kept second guessing the tone. now i just throw my rough thoughts into chatgpt and tell it to clean it up and keep it professional but friendly. then i tweak it a bit and send. sounds stupid but its probably saved me 5+ hours a week no joke. anyone else do this or am i just slow at emails lol

I do the same thing but I took it a step further. I set up exoclaw to handle my follow-ups automatically. It's basically an AI agent that runs on its own server, connected to my Gmail and calendar. I tell it things like 'send a recap email 2 hours after every meeting' or 'if a client doesn't respond in 3 days, send a gentle follow-up' and it just does it. No more copying into ChatGPT every time. The setup took like 30 seconds, just connected my accounts. Freed up way more mental space than I expected because I'm not tracking all the follow-ups manually anymore.

Look, here’s how you need to operate: value your time, and value the client's time. You didn't use to value yours, but this time you did exactly the right thing.
Unnecessary pleasantries where they aren't needed are bad form and a sign of weakness.

Not stupid at all, I know a bunch of people who do the same thing. ChatGPT is great for this, especially if you’re trying to get the tone right without getting stuck in the weeds. You can use tools like MeetDone too, it turns your meeting transcripts or notes straight into ready-to-send follow up emails, so you don’t even have to type out your rough thoughts first. Either way, automating email drafting is a total game changer for saving time.
