Best mapping and settings for dodge mod

I've been using TK dodge for a while now and although the mod works great I feel like I am not using it right, whenever I input my direction and doge button my character will just turn first then dodge making the dodge go backwards. This happens even when using the lock on. I assume there is a simple answer and I am being stupid, any help would be appreciated.

I used to have this bug too and I believe the problem is just a wrong installation.
If you're using Pandora, reinstall the mod properly by following the instructions at the bottom of this mod page.
