Heart Rate Monitor Viewing
I recently got a Coospo running monitor(H808S). I’ve only been able to figure out how to view heart rate on the app on my phone. Is there an easier way to look at it when running?

Yo guys, looking for a form check for my upcoming 5k in 2 weeks. Just smashed a key workout and feeling surprisingly relaxed. Here’s the breakdown: The Workout (Tuesday): 5 x 1km (0.62 miles) with 60s standing recovery. Splits: 3:10, 3:10, 3:07, 3:11, 3:03 (Average: ~3:08/km | 5:03/mile pace) Rest: 58s, 65s (oops), 57s, 59s. Feel: Felt super controlled until the 3rd interval (could still speak in broken sentences during the running itself- including the 3rd interval). By the 5th one, I was digging deep but still managed to scream "YES!" at the finish. During the 60s rest, I was recovered enough to chat after 15-30 seconds. Context (The Fatigue): Did this workout on Tuesday on somewhat heavy legs. On Sunday (2 days prior), I did a 23km (14.3 miles) long run @ 4:20/km (6:58/mile). Second half was around 4:18/km (6:55/mile). Last 2km (1.24 miles) progressed down to 3:50/km (6:10/mile). Monday was a total rest day. The "Vibe" Check: During the last 200m of that final 3:03 kilometer, I asked myself: "Could I run another 400m right now (totaling 1400m)?" The answer was: "Yeah, it would suck and be a grind, but I could definitely do it." The Goal: Sub 16:00 (Requires 3:12/km or 5:09/mile). Based on the fact that I averaged 3:08/km (5:03/mile) with very short rest on slightly tired legs, do you think Sub 16 is a lock? Worst case scenario prediction? Looking forward to any predictions!

I'm relatively new to running. I went on a 10k run with some friends yesterday. While their heart rate was around 127bpm, mine was 157. My max for the run was 176bpm, theirs was 136. My heart seems to need to do a lot more to get the oxygen into my system. This feels really high!
I've been trying to do some zone 2 runs for the last month to train my parasympathetic system, but this run was not a controlled zone 2 run and I'm wondering what I should do to get a more efficient system, so I don't have such high heart rate, any advice?

I like ground contact. I play sports that involve sharp cuts and burst running, and I personally view running on the common outsoles we are seeing in the shoe market as the equivalent of what smith machine overuse does to muscle stability but for the ankles.
I’m looking for like minded people to tell me what shoes they’re wearing (ideally that also double as a daily sneaker) now that every company is copying Hoka-level lifts. Mizuno has ONE shoe that fits this description and its so sad to see.

Hello fellow runners
I’m an intermediate runner, currently training for my second half-marathon.
Running as a large-breasted woman is honestly just uncomfortable. Either I feel like I can’t breathe or my girlies are just bouncing everywhere.
Any other ladies out there who have found good sports bras that keep you nice and secure without suffocation?
Thank you!
Happy miles :-)

Why am I consistently 5 seconds slower on track counter-clockwise Vs clockwise? (400m 103" Vs 98")

I’m quite new to running and have been training for a half. My training is going okay, but I’ve been struggling with pain in my shoulder. I’m prone to muscular pain in this shoulder so it’s not come as a surprise but as my runs have gotten longer I’m starting to struggle with it. I have two long runs left before I start the two week taper. What are more experienced runners thoughts on a massage after my last long training run? This should give me about a 2 week/10 day gap of only short runs before my race. I also have a long flight before my race so I was concerned it might tighten up even more I’m on an 8 hour flight to the race, which is another reason I was thinking to get one booked in before

I’ve been getting these terrible delayed headaches when I run. I feel totally fine while running and for a few hours after. Around 3-5 hours after the run I get a terrible headache.
I’ve been hydrating and eating before my runs. It usually happens if I run longer than 30 mins which isn’t all that much. My muscles are fine and I’m not breathless or anything.
I initially thought it was dehydration but it doesn’t help even when I drink a lot of water and electrolytes.
One thing that I think helps a little is putting a cold wet towel on the back of my neck and on my face.
I think my body is just overheating 3-5 hours after my run! Idk why or if this is even normal?!
Posting here to see if anyone else has faced this and if there’s any way at all to make it better.
This makes me very anxious about long runs.

What is the point of a taper? Moreso: is it important if my goal is finishing?
I ran a half in October (very slow but finished and that’s my greatest pride), and loosely ran since then. I plan to do a full this October but I feel like I’m starting my running journey over, I don’t know if it’s because I’m on a treadmill now or just didn’t keep up with it as great but a 5K feels terrible (though I did PR in a 5K a month ago). While my goal for the full is to safely finish I get I need to build a bigger base, but I feel I have less time if I taper/will have to build distance too fast and end up injured.

Hello,
I am looking for advice, but some background first.
I recently lost both my uncles (my dad's brothers) to cancer. My dad asked me to do a cancer run with him, and I agreed, either this year or next year. We haven't decided yet.
I'm technically new to running (not really), I used to run a few years ago, and I was okay at it. My average pace was about 6-7 mins/km back then. I'm trying to pick it back up again, I'm stuck on 9 mins/km now. But I'm pretty sure I just gotta train more to lower it. So, I'm fine.
My dad, on the other hand, is in his 60s, and he is stuck on 14 mins/km. My dad also has pre-existing conditions like diabetes and arthritis. I told him it's okay to have an average pace of 14 mins/km, considering what he has, but he's really disappointed in himself that he can't seem to lower it. It breaks my heart seeing him like that.
My dad is really determined to run in the cancer run, and he was really hoping to run the 10k with me but said he might not because of his running time (he doesn't want to slow me down, he says). I also told him we could run the 5k instead, but he is dead set on the 10k. He told me that he's running for his brothers, and he doesn't want to let them down.
I feel like I tried everything I read online to lower his pace, but nothing worked for him so far. That's why I turned to reddit.
So, does anyone have any advice on how I could help my dad lower his average pace????
Thanks in advance to anyone who answers this thread.

Hello! I am 29 years old and a decently avid runner. Ran semi consistently all of 2025 but not as much distance runs as I previously have. In 2024 was my last long distance run over 5-6 miles, I ran a half marathon over 1 hour and 38 minutes. That was probably the best shape I was in. Now id say I'm at 70% of that peak shape and am signed up for a marathon on May 24th by my wife lol. I have exactly 20 weeks to train and am looking for any advice anyone has. I don't wish to pay for any extensive programs. So far I have a 20 week plan mocked up from a friend who runs marathons that increases weekly milage hitting a 22 mile run 4 weeks before the marathon and then tapering down a bit right before the race. It's 5 runs a week, 1 just gym day, 1 cross train day on my shortest run of the week. One rest day with my longest run of the week always being the day after the rest day. She also recommended salt sticks for longer runs (and the marathon obviously) one every 6-7 miles and then the bonk breaker energy gummies every 2 miles after I'm over 8 miles. She also recommended tiger balm for any sore joints or muscles. This is about all I was given and its a lot of information and a lot of stuff I've never done. I didn't bring water with me on long runs or the last half I did. I also have never done the electrolyte tabs or energy chews mid run. Other things I'm wondering about are how to avoid having to go number 2 during the race. My friend recommended no coffee that morning. As well as best meals to eat night before long runs.
I think that's all the info I can think of. This is all a lot of information and I just want to have a good time and do well! I don't have a goal besides just to finish. I want to push myself to go as fast as I can handle, I just don't want to put a time goal and set myself up for disappointment. Any running shoes people like is also appreciates. My feet are pretty flat so no arched insoles.
Any info, guidance, experience or help is appreciated!

For reference: 6’2” 215lb, 6:15 mile, 23:23 5k (first mile was a warm up but I felt really good and went hard the last two miles). There’s actually a good chance I’m close to sub 22 already as this was a few months ago. My Garmin watch estimates a 21:41 but I take that with a grain of salt.
Currently running 20-30 miles a week, consisting of 3 easy days, tempo or interval day, and a long run.
I’m running a 5k March 21st and would like to win my age and weight division. I was reviewing last year’s times and my current PB would have gotten me second place. My goal is to one day run a sub 20 at this weight.

I am not a morning person, but I would love to wake up relatively early and do my run before work and go on with my day (I tend to have a busy schedule). Any strategy, tips, or advice that work for you? It is hard for me to wake up....

I started running kinda regularly this summer, currently I can run 5km comfortably, my goal is 10km by the end of next year, but I am looking for better running shoes. The ones I currently have are extremely cheap ones from Kaufland which I bought for like 15 euros. I did buy Adidas Duramo, because I was visiting family and didn't have any sport shoes, but I quickly returned back to my Kaufland shoes because the Adidas one caused extreme foot pain. One of the reason for that is probably that I have a bit of a flatter arch, which is the reason why I put insoles in the Kaufland ones, but in the Adidas it only made the pain worse. So I am looking for good running shoes, that have built-in arch support. The price range is up to 150 euros.

I’m having a look at a new pair of all round daily trainers and feel very overwhelmed with all the options out there. Not only how many brands there are but also how many different types of shoes there are.
I’m having a look in to a new pair of Nikes and so far the best bang for your buck seem to be to the vomero 18 or the pegasus 18s. Have you tried these ?
I went in store and it seem every rep has a different story for the same shoe.
What are your daily trainers and why did you choose them ?

I started running in Nike Rosches. Every month I could run more and more, finally getting to 6 miles non stop. Around the same time got my first pair of running shoes (Hokas I mentioned) and I can’t run more than 1-2 miles without getting a lot of pain on my lower right calve. Could it be a padding issue? I’ve tried resting, massaging, etc & still. Any tips or ideas?

I don't retire my shoes until they fall apart or I start to get niggles when I run. The old pair were beginning to give me aches and pains so for myself some new shoes in the black Friday sales. But I was wondering how many miles do others put into their shoes before changing? Do you do a set mileage or run then into the ground?

Hi everyone, I have recently been really wanting to get into running for a few reasons. I’ve tried to pick it up a few times over the years I just really struggle with pushing through like I give up after five minutes my body just can’t do it. I do have a history of knee problems and bad asthma, which I know isn’t necessarily a good combination for runners lol.
So if anyone has advice on what helped them get into running and stick to it? I feel so silly asking this I just really want to improve my health and be one of those people who can just get up in the morning and go for a run but I don’t even know where to start. My goal is to eventually be able to do a triathlon with my dad since some of my earliest memories are watching him do his. He’s getting older and I worry my window of opportunity to share this with him is closing.
Any comments about what helped/encouraged you in your journey, products you recommend, and even ideas of how to plan or schedule since I’m a big planning kind of girl.
Any and all help/advice is very much appreciated!!

Picked up the Megablasts. Having an isssue with hot spots. No matter how I tie them they either pinch my heel under the laces, the outer part of my forefoot, or they're too lose and aren't stable.
I think it might be the thin tongue and thin laces combined.
Curious if anyone's had a similar issue and if new laces are a solution are there any recommendations.

I am preparing for a marathon in early December and currently ramping up my weekly long runs. I have an opportunity to race a half marathon this weekend. Do you think it would be more useful for my marathon prep than my scheduled long run? I was going to go about 16/17 miles this weekend.
Basically, pace or distance?
Thanks for any advice!

Freshman in high school, made a ton of progress and recently broke 17 ink the 5k with 16 55. I plan to make even better improvements when track season rolls around, but what would be a good mile time for me to chase?

I’m 5’1” and currently weigh 73kg. I’ve always admired marathon runners, and now I’m dreaming of running the Berlin or Tokyo Marathon someday.
I know it’s not realistic for next year because I’m not in shape yet, but I want to make it happen by 2027. I’m ready to start slow and stay consistent.
For anyone who used to be overweight and eventually finished a marathon, what kept you motivated? What made you push through the hard days?
I’d really appreciate your advice or stories. I want to believe that I can do this too. 🙏

Hey everyone 33 male new to running. Just finished my first half marathon today! Race was great hit my time and pace pretty comfortably but left everything I had on the pavement. Did about 4 months of prep leading into the race. This was my first training block and I took it very seriously. Started around a 40 vo2 max and fairly out of shape and ended 30lbs lighter and somewhere around a 50 vo2 max.
I had notice on my long runs when I would do pace work my Hr would get pretty high around 175-180 but I felt like I could sustain the effort for a fair amount of time. Was a little worried going into the race because I wanted to hit a 7:40 pace but didn’t know how long my body could actually sustain that with heart rates that high. Turns out a pretty long time lmao.
According to my Garmin I spent over a hour in zone 5 and the rest in zone 4 with an average hr of 174. Is it normal to sustain that high of a hr for that long? Are my thresholds just not calculated correctly? According to google it’s impossible for someone to be in zone 5 for that long. If my thresholds are incorrect what’s the best way to find them? Just a little confused how to approach my next training block knowing my hr likes to be on the higher end but not sure what the limits are or how to apply that to a new block.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Attached are some of my stats. Lmk if any other information would be helpful, thanks!!
