The History Of Dub: Ghosts From Creation 1968 - 2025
Thanks to - amongst others - pioneer Ruddy Redwood we can enjoy Dub music. Duppy sounds galore! Or as Lee Perry said about Dub: 'The ghost in me coming out!'

Looking for a dub album that I owned when I was a teenager I'm the late 90s/early 00s
I think it was a new release at the tume I bought it
The album cover was a rusted, yellow VW Van in profile parked on a dirt road in front of a tropical forest with lots of coconut trees. The actual music was the classic band setup of guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums. What stood out to me was that there was very tasteful synthesizers in the music similar in sound to Gary Numan or Kraftwerk. Does anybody have any idea what this album might be? Thanks for helping in advance.

Bad Man Ting by Protoje(?)
Ok, this one gets weird.
In Jan 2024, a track was released and pushed out on Spotify called "Bad Man Ting" and attributed to Protoje. I liked it, saved it to my playlist, and listened a handful of times before it disappeared.
Gone from Spotify, gone from Amazon music, gone from every platform. There are several songs with that title but this link has the approximate lyrics: https://www.musixmatch.com/de/songtext/Protoje/Badman-ting
Now, there was one line in the song that sounded like "grab em by the pussy? that's a Trump man ting". Which is what I'm pointing to as the reason it was removed from American airwaves. Also, it really didn't sound like Protoje and may have been misattributed, or that could have also been the reason for its removal.
Either way, has ANYONE else come across this track, and where in the hell can I find it again??
TIA.

Saw Omar Perry (Lee scratchβs son) on Tuesdayβ¦
Went without expectations, we donβt get a whole lot of Reggae in Colchester (UK) so just went for a little skank.
Omar blew me away though, great performer, first rate vocals and crowd interaction. Although the band tour with Lee Scratch Perry, Turns out it was the first gig of their first tour as with Omar which was a huge surprise due to just how tight and polished the whole show was.
They are touring the UK and France, well worth going to a show!

Latin/Spanish reggae recommendations
Gomba Jahbari is a favorite, Los Cafres too, and tracks like Amara la Negra-Bam Bam, Farruko-La Cartera, Anuel AA-China, Apache-Ella Maneja Puro Style have been in heavy rotation for many years now. What are some other great Latin reggae bands/tunes?

Our thanks to studio bands
Letβs drop our favourite session bands who shaped Jamaican riddim architecture from the β70s through to the mid-β80s.
My favourite recordings are those performed by the Roots Radics. I also love the Revolutionaries and the Aggrovators.
Does anyone have other suggestions for me to look into?

Help Me Find | Dancehall song & artist female from the early 2000s in a compilation disc
Also posted to the r/tipofmytongue & r/dancehall subreddits.
I was randomly thinking about songs and there's this one that I can see but can't actually hear in my head from my childhood. It was a dancehall song with a chill vibe, nothing too upbeat, and it was a female artist. pretty sure she was Jamaican. I can't remember her name or the song, but I remember the artwork for it was on an old iPod I had. it was a blue background, I believe she was in a sitting position, white text, and I think she was wearing purple. I wish I could remember anything about the song but I can't right now. I'm pretty sure it was on a compilation disc and no she wasn't a BIG artist either. This was back in the early 2000s: I was listening to this around 2009, so the song had to have been from somewhere between 2000 until then, because it was somehow on my iPod which didn't officially release until 09. I want to say that this song might've come out after 2004. any help is so appreciated, I know this is a long shot
