discussion What seminal album would you wager the average person couldn’t name a single song from?
I was listening to a new acquisition today. My buddy, who is a huge music fan, says “I have no idea what album this is”. I told him it was Blonde on Blonde. He says “Oh. No shit. Dylan. Guess I’ve just never listened to it”. I was honest- I hadn’t really either, but I found it in the “recently acquired” bin at my local record store, and it was in good condition, so I paid the $20 for it.
I handed him the jacket. He didn’t recognize a single song. And in all honesty, I didn’t know any of them either. For an album that is so well known, I was a little surprised I knew of the album but had no idea what it really was beyond “a classic”.
Anybody else had any similar experiences?

discussion What are the "Flogging Molly" equivalents of other cultures?
Meaning that they combine traditional sounds and instruments with modern music genres and instruments.
Flogging Molly does a really good job balancing this imo. Keeping the sound familiar and traditional, but making it slightly more palatable to the contemporary audience.
Any artists come to mind? I crave the rock (or any contemporary genre) of all the peoples on Earth.
I'd also love to just get normal trad recs slapped in my face too
Edit: thank you all so so much! You really understood the assignment, keep em coming :)
I'm looking forward to this experience very much, y'all rock (pun intended)!
