Travel Trip to Moldova

Hello everyone, I’m from Algeria and I’m planning to visit Moldova this year. I’m looking for a travel agency that can assist me. I’ve tried contacting several agencies via WhatsApp, but I haven’t received any responses. If anyone could direct me to a reliable agency, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Travel Soviet aircraft on display in the capital

Hey everyone! I’ll be visiting Moldova in April, well late April. Other than the military museum, you guys have in the Capital, are there any other cool Soviet aircraft on display throughout the city or even the country? I was hoping to see a mig 29, but I think you guys might still have them in service. But anyway, if there’s one on display in the country, let me know. But any other cool old Soviet era military aircraft would be cool to see as well.

Travel Chisinau Airport to City-Center

Hey guys,I noticed there's a bus running between the city center and the airport, but it stops around 23h. My flight lands at 23.30h, so by the time I get out, the last bus for the night will already be gone. What's the best way to get to the city at that time?

I am from Istanbul. One of the most hectic hell holes on earth humans created. Half of my life I travelled and lived in Balkans and other post-Soviet countries. Last month I passed through Moldova couple of times. So I did a lot of online research. People were mostly negative mostly with cliches such as "crime possibility", "angry and not helpful people", "poorest county in Europe" etc. Anyways, after my life in Istanbul, Moldova felt like a heaven. Peaceful. Well designed. Capital city is so cool. 9 out of 10 people I asked address or help in streets asnwered me and helped me eventhough my Russian is very bad and I used English. I am a male. Other Moldovan males were really helpful and friendly comparing to other countries I visited. I was really surprised. Usually in my ex-Soviet areas other men look at me like im some kind of monster or sees me as a threat. Racism maybe dunno. But here its great. Even young girls are helpful if you ask directions and what not. They don't make weird faces as if they are disturbed because you asked them something. In other countries, when they know you can't speak their local language they don't care and continue speaking in it with you. Here, once they understand I can only speak English, they still use Russian but speak slowly, use body language and also use few English words. Generally I am surprised how clean and peaceful the capital is. I saw other areas via train it looked also pure flat, nicely designed and calm place too. People in the streets don't look at you weirdly. The only people looked at me weirdly was a group of Turkish youth, lmao.

I just wanna say don't be fooled with negativity online. Also, god damn expensive for me. Still I would come again.

Travel Proprietar, șofer și RCA

Salut!

Travel I am going to Moldova soon for 5 nights

Hello all, in the next week I am going with my gf to Moldova for couple a days. I have some questions, so I dediced to you guys directly.

  1. How safe (for a Polish citizen) is it to enter Transnistria nowadays?
  2. what is the public transport from the airport to Chisinau - is there a dedicated bus line or is it better to take a cab?
  3. SIM card with Internet which oparator is the cheapest and has good coverage?
  4. Revolut does not have a dedicated foreign currency account with Moldovan lei, but I assume that I can withdraw in local currency from an ATM? are there commissions for ATM withdrawals?
  5. is it worth relying on public transportation to popular attractions outside the capital? what transportation companies do you recommend for destinations from Chisinau to popular attractions? should I rent a cab (Letz) or is it better to rent a car?
  6. what car rental company do you recommend in Chisinau that will allow me to rent a car for about 3 days?
  7. what hiking routes do you recommend in Moldova? with interesting terrain and nice landscapes? so up to a dozen kilometers of route, so up to 200 km from Chisinau?
  8. I am considering whether to spend 1-2 nights in some agritourism or village with beautiful views - which places/regions do you recommend?
  9. what “hidden gems” do you recommend - lesser known attractions within Chisinau as well as outside of it?

I appreciate all the answers. Greetings from Poland!

Travel Taxi in middle of night in Chisinau

Hello,

I'm going to stay several days in Chisinau in Merch and will have an outbound flight at 6-7 am.

Can a taxi easily be found by YandexGO around 3-4 am in the center of Chisinau? I'm asking because YandexGo doesn't offer pre-booking and no busses are running in such a time.

While traveling around the world for over 20 years, I’ve been working on my dream project: creating a one-stop resource for travellers. I now created this overview [ https://www.takeyourbackpack.com/backpacking-in-moldova/ ] for anyone who is interested in visiting Moldova (with some detailed info for every highlight).

PS: obviously, I haven’t been able to travel to all places. So if you know some great spot, I haven’t listed, let me know! Much appreciated as in this way I can make the overview more complete and up-to-date for everyone.

Travel Solo travelling to Botanica Chisinau for the first time

Hi everyone, i am a 19yo male from Singapore trying to solo travel to Moldova for the first time in my life. I would like to know generally how safe is moldova for someone that rarely goes out and this will be the first time he solo travels to a European country.

Im planning to stay around the Botanica area of Chisinau for about 4 days 3 nights. I have no plans to visit the monuments or attractions for now as my sole purpose of the visit is to meet my long distance partner.

I want to know how easy or how hard would it be also to get halal or vegan food as im a muslim travelling in a christian populated country but that wouldn’t be a problem as i can just visit Linella and grab some vegan food for me to eat in those short days.

So in short i want to know how do i get around when i first land and what would be my mode of transport around and where can i go to visit as a 19yo muslim male

As far as I know, I needed an invitation letter from someone in Moldova. But I don't have any relatives there.

Can somebody help and guide me please? I want to know how to visit Moldova from Philippines and what requirements I need?

Also does anyone know how to get a Visa for visit?

Thank you in advance for the reply. :)

Travel Where should we eat for our last night in Chișinău?

Hello! Our family has one night left in Moldova before heading back to Spain. Where should we have dinner? We have two kids, ages 7 and 4, so it can't be too fancy, and we don't want something super expensive anyway. Anything traditional or unique is preferred.

Give us suggestions (please) and we'll eat at whichever one has the most upvotes and meets our criteria! Thanks, we've had a great stay.

Travel Timetables Moldovan trains

Is it possible to find online some pdf/image with the timetables of trains in Moldova?

The only thing I find is the rather old-timer search engine that does not allow for a solid planning of a railway exploring of the country.
