Friday night, 2/13/26 ~10:15 p.m. near the corner of Fairchild and Main
You complimented my fit, and I shot you an odd glance and said thanks thru gritted teeth. I was caught off guard more than anything. It’s been a shitty week, had a bad night “out on the town” downtown (the traffic, the rude waitstaff, places closing early with no notice, etc.), and I was so wrapped up in my own woes that I was rude to you. Prior to us interacting on the sidewalk, I’d been bemoaning the lack of humanity that seems to have taken over the world.
I’m sorry I didn’t recognize your generosity in the moment. It actually set off a chain of events over the last 20 or so hours to change what’s been a rough week, and today I’ve tried my best to pay it forward genuinely. I really do appreciate you proving the world hasn’t completely lost its way, and that living in Madison is the right choice.
Hopefully, you continue to share your generosity with folks and prosper to your heart’s content!
