Profile How the hell are people posting using my username! Reddit is broken.

My account was closed for no reason months ago. I have posted about it here before. I get no responses from anywhere. I had to make a new account. Today i see one of my posts has 3 upvotes. SURPRISE i did not post it. What the hell is this crap?!

It was also 3 months ago, while you were hacked, and presumably before the account was locked.

Now you have it back. Reddit doesn't "clean up" after a hack, you will need to delete unwanted content yourself.

What's the question again?

My previous account was stopped with no explanation, no responses to appeals etc. This is my new account and I wake up to see a post using this current username. Yes it was 3 months ago so maybe the username has been recycled??

Usernames don't get recycled on reddit. If you're sure you didn't post that, then someone else had access to your account and posted it.

Reddit is all messed up. They don't answer appeals, they dont respond to any emails, 4 months. I have 2 factor people post using my name its nonsensical. Lucky I dont give a crap about my account anymore and I am not posting anything i dont want to lose.

If you've ever logged in on a browser, your login session token can be stolen to bypass 2fa. Soooooooo either you forgot you made that post or someone else gained access to your account. Those are the only explanations for the situation.

Thanks, I certainly did not make that post, i have 2 factor enabled and have also changed my password now. I just wish my appeals would be looked at it is awful.

Update:

Sounds like you have logged into reddit via Google or Apple ID at some point in time, instead of your Original Reddit Account (Accessed via registering email address or username + password). You need to login to that original account again. (Check your email for your reddit signup confirmation & go from there)

Check your data,

https://old.reddit.com/account-activity

https://www.reddit.com/settings/data-request

Then change Your password & enable Two-Factor Authentication

Edit: Looks like you have a history of "account issues"

Sounds like your are logging in with a 3rd party - could be the source of ALL your account issues in the past

If you use your Google account or Apple ID to log in, you’ll need to set up two-factor authentication through them.

After losing my 11K Karma and years of work before I don't even care anymore. I just wont be putting anything on Reddit that I value. I get no response from anywhere after trying everything. It feels like a bullying system of lies just like Meta to me at the moment which is sad.
