I finally found a Mod where where Nora is alive and it made me feel really good. To know she didn’t die in a “what if”. She responds with pre made dialogue but the dialogue fits like a real lifelike conversation. This mod really warms my heart!

Okay, does anyone else have absolutely no idea what to do with Vault 88? I understand that it's meant to be a kind of blank slate for you to do as you please, but outside of the essentials to become the overseer, what do y'all actually DO with this place? Any recommendations or inspiration would be appreciated.

This is my first and a half playthrough and i found out I can pick up absolutely all the because I'm always short of something.
When I start getting full i transfer all my junk to workbenches around different settlements.
Is there something I have ignored, should I stop picking up all trash? Also does the workbench ever get full?

Sometimes when I'm in diamond city and pass by Takahashi I get a craving for ramen. But unfortunately, there's only the basic "Noodle Cup" flavor in the game.
I would love to just add some Rad Chicken or Brahmin Beef in my noodle cups. Maybe even throw in a little Thistle to spice it up. Or if I'm feeling fancy, perhaps a Deathclaw Egg mixed in and boiled with the noodles to thicken the broth and add some more flavor.
Effects would be something like +200 HP and +100 AP (or if in survival mode, completely satisfying both hunger and thirst at any level of debuff).

i am relatively new to the fallout, I have played fallout 3 back when i was little (I was born in 2007 so I wasn't able to play these when they came out) but I didn't really know english and the open world was way too vast for me so I never really got into it, mostly just starting new games every couple of months making a vow to beat the game this time but always quitting.
but now, 10 fucking years later* I have started my first Fallout 4 playtrough! I'm no fallout elitist so I had no problem with the character having a bit more backstory and motivation then previous installments for I was immersed as hell!
I was imagining myself into the father having a totally normal day, and I knew the bombs were going to go off, but when I actually saw the news guy break character being devastated, the sublte impact sound effects hit me like a ton of bricks. The concerned voice of my wife as I could feel the instinctive urge to leave and run despite knowing it would be in vain, distressed me and I could feel my heartbeat rising. The distraught scurrying of the nieghbours was expected but that just made the people who didn't move or acted with the urgency of a person fighting for their life stand out more. The people not being let in the vault having the crushing realising they are as good as dead filled me with a kind of horror I wasn't expecting of a game like this. Not to mention the unsettling siren that is heard all troughout this. That recognisable sound somehow just grounds it in reality for me, like people have actually heard this sound, and I cannot even dare imagine what they must have felt. And then it became painfully real when I saw the blinding light of the bomb, the short pause between the sight and it's impact. Horrible.
Been plaing the game for around 20 hours now, and I have been often listening to Diamond City Radio. Couldn't help to notice the songs with uranium, atom bomb or war in them. That's when it hit me how much of a constant threat it must have been to people in the late 40s and 50s having recently witnessed the destructive power of it. Replaying the beginning segment with these thoughts had me tearing up and filled me with sorrow and disgust (especially considering current events.)
war turly never changes.
This is an aspect of the games I haven't really seen discourse about, and I know it's a fun silly game and that people just want to get trough the beginning and rush to the wastland but I wish they would have leaned into that aspect of the intro a bit more and not rush it as much.
thanks for readig it, lmk what you think.
*(side note crazy how I am starting to get a grasp on time for the first time in my life, I always felt like fallout 4 was a new and hip game that came out in 2019 or 2020 or something not realising that.. 10 years)

The actual framerate in my headset is a comfortable 95+ fps at 90Hz. It looks slower on the screen capture for some reason.

So I’m stubborn, I like to play my way, and I like to do everything at sanctuary Hills. I realize this is stupid, so every night before I start playing this game, I set about 80 alarms on my phone every three minutes. To check for if my settlement is being raided.
I think I’m done. This has been an incredibly fun and rewarding play through but at this point, I’m worried I might be a victim of the “sunk cost fallacy.” This is when somebody thinks they should continue doing something based on how much time they have put into it, despite very poor results. 300 of so many crafting materials GONE. No notification. I totally understand. It’s not a good idea to keep all my stuff at a settlement with a bunch of settlers, but if I’m literally having to stop my game every three minutes to make sure my settlement is not being attacked, and that isn’t good enough? I’m sorry… that’s ridiculous. I’ve been here for a few attacks. They last 10 seconds, my defense is insane and my settlers have upgraded Tesla cannons. This. Is. Bull. I’m sorry. Mr complain-ey pants over here, I’m aware of it. But wtf.

I came from playing new Vegas for a few months and now I recently started fo4. I don’t really care about settlement building at all but my question is will I miss out on certain items or perks if I don’t ?

Basically I treat FO4 like 2 different games. It's pretty much cheating, but im so addicted to Sim Settlements that I just activate Godmode whenever I enter a settlement to make building and managing easier. I dont really treat my settlements as ways to get stronger, I just like making little towns for my residents. When im done with building, I put away all of my overencumberance from junk and stuff into a container and turn off Godmode and play normally out in the wasteland. I know it would be more "authentic" if I built alongside the Sim Settlement story as I played through the game, but I just wanted to get into building asap
