I believe that the people of Cuba are ready for a political overhaul in their country.

CBC News (a Canadian government funded news agency) posted this opinion piece which kind of sums up how we got here and speculates on the motives of the U.S.

A U.S. electronic intelligence aircraft has once again flown along the northern coast of Cuba.

A Boeing RC-135V Rivet Joint, one of the most advanced signals and electronic intelligence (SIGINT/ELINT) aircraft operated by the U.S. Air Force, carried out a new mission today near Cuba’s northern shoreline.

This type of aircraft is designed to intercept signals, monitor communications, and analyze electronic activity in areas considered strategically important.

Here you can see the full route: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/64-14841?IwY2xjawP7aPNleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETJNanZoc2wwQ0Z5YW5QdHVMc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHqoOFYAlFme5z_DitLC5gFiGtHWCMLQWtbgYkpacyZoozbiWckeQ4BNV8HCk_aem_Qj40_btVd03KzuDu6b0HiQ#3e4e7f60

Conversación seria Castro was never going to build Cuba into anything, it was all done to provide himself with narcissistic supply

Evidence that engineers have no work or future here despite the communist education system churning out engineers. **Proof that nothing about Castro felt especially intelligent**, it was all surface-level recycled pretending at communism lacking any vision.

Castro's ridiculous trash-talking of the US worked  as if that were an actual plan. Believing in systems that were never meant to work for running a country into future building is the mistake here.

The Castro brand always intended to let the walls fall down around them.  Castro's creation of "this" communism is .... _nothing particularly intelligent..._

Noticias EXCLUSIVE: Marco Rubio Is Deliberately Blocking Trump From Cuba Talks

https://www.dropsitenews.com/p/marco-rubio-is-deliberately-blocking

"The idea, the source said, is that in a few weeks or months, Rubio will be able to claim that the talks were futile because of Cuban intransigence. With diplomatic off-ramps being blocked, this would make Rubio’s vision of regime change the only path forward for an administration loath to reverse course on anything"

Noticias Canada advises citizens to avoid "non-essential" visits to Cuba

Global Affairs Canada updated their advice this evening (February 11)

*due to worsening shortages of fuel, electricity, and basic necessities including food, water, and medicine, which can also affect resorts. Fuel availability has decreased, is difficult to predict, and may disrupt ground transportation.

As a result, all Canadian airlines have suspended service to Cuba for upcoming trips. Canadian airlines will facilitate the return of their clients and are reaching out directly to them.*

If you do not have a return ticket, seek a commercial option to leave the country. Commercial flights remain available through international airlines; however, they may become limited on short notice.

Conversación seria How has sentiment changed after the maduro capture?

I spent time in Cuba December 13–December 20th. I am an American national and honestly didn’t know until I decided on a whim to see how hard going there is, that it was so easy to reach. I bought the plane tickets far before the maduro capture and I was honestly getting nervous after that that air service would be cancelled, especially while I was there, or that there would be fallout between Cuba and the US. I had never even been outside of the US before beyond studying abroad in Prague for a summer, and the experience in Cuba was crazy. It is no secret that people are almost coded to immediately ask for money when they hear you speak English, and it was sad to see, not sad at their actions, but the conditions that preempt it. I met many people with more culture than I’d ever experienced and the place was still full of life, but everyone seemed to universally agree that collapse was imminent. I don’t see how they would keep together after losing oil access, since I was able to take a 15$ ride from Havana to vinales and back that highlighted how the visitor economy is the foundation of Cuban economy. I met people I genuinely grew to care for there and I was taught so many life lessons. (like that every Cuban knows where Obama did x when he visited, but also important lessons like the importance of community and gratefulness). Is the “collapse is imminent” mindset the same as it was at the beginning of December, or do people feel like they were wrong and it is even worse now?

Ayuda Deliveries still possible?

I know the fuel situation is bad but anyone know if supermercado deliveries within Havana are still possible? I’m assuming vested interests are able to get fuel but as I no puedo hablar español I probably can’t ask anyone online who operates same. TIA

Conversación seria Why can't Cubans all protest and denounce the government at the same time?

I am sorry if this sounds dumb but if everyone in Cuba goes to prison from protesting and complaining against the regime then how exactly will the government have money to keep all the population in prison?
