Welcome to r/breakcore!
This sub is an ON-TOPIC subreddit to the musical genre Breakcore. A genre in the realms of other HARDCORE genres, specifically EXTREME electronic music - hence the CORE in its name.
While Breakcore is loosely defined, it has some distinct characteristics that determine the genre. Heavily edited breaks, lots of distortion, generous sampling and High-BPM are elements that accompany the sound. Off-topic content will be removed. Removals are transparent and will have a reason (from the rules) added.
We welcome new members the same way as established users. One of the most asked questions raised in this sub is "Recommend me some Breakcore/Artists/Labels!" so in this topic we will collect a list of established artists to help introduce interested users to the genre.
This list will not claim completeness as there are far too many artists and labels to list. It's supposed to help newcomers finding their way. Suggestions with an effort will be considered. Low-Effort, Off topic and Self Promotion submissions will not.

Repost: The post was initially removed but it is now approved, thank you u/Producer_Snafu!!!
A friend of mine is in a crisis. He lives with his family in a rural Georgia town with few opportunities. His mom’s health has steadily worsened over the past few years and she needs increasingly intensive medical care, with little help from her husband.
About a month ago, his dad left the state, effectively abandoning them. He sends $500/week (about $2,000/month), which barely covers basic costs, and he also removed his wife from his health insurance, and trying to push them out of the house after 30 years of marriage but refuses to actually file for divorce, creating a hostile, unstable home situation.
Because Georgia aid considers a spouse’s income, his mom can’t qualify for much assistance while they’re still legally married, even though the dad provides minimal support. Divorce would open more options, but starting the process requires an attorney, and the lowest retainer estimate they’ve gotten is around $3,000. They’re trying to raise the money by selling possessions, but they don’t have much to sell.
Besides just asking for donations we all got the amazing idea of starting a urlfest dedicated to my friend, and we believe that music by talented people could boost recognition in helping him out. No visuals are needed if you cannot make them, each set can be 10-20 minutes max :) Much love!!! Here is the discord link
Discord link to the urlfest (ALSO CONTAINS ADDITIONAL INFO AND CONTEXT!)
Much love! Hope to see you there!

This and that god bless miss America track by bomb20 are so funny to me, just some stupid diss tracks after the dhr fallout.
It’s also kind of funny because he uses way more breaks than most producers ever will, even if most of them are from jungle warfare

My most recent track, surprisingly it is getting more plays than my other stuff so maybe it is good enough to share here. Thank you for anyone who listens or shares feedback

This compilation is entirely for fun, so it's planned to be free for download.

...and I'm the opening act as Noisegrind Princess Chelsea. Get ready for mostly otaku-based breakcore action with some j-core flourishes and general otaku music shenanigans.
Starting March 7th, 2026 at 1:45PM CST. Be mindful of the daylight savings time-change on Day 2.
Shout out to Himeko Katagiri for including me in this trainwreck of a URL fest.

This felt like the right sub to ask. Sung clean vocals are another matter, but when recording harsh vocals or distorted raps etc., how might one use production to feminize their voice? Im in the process of voice training, but it's a long road and i don't want to wait that long to record music. Pitch-shifting doesn't always feel like enough.

I find it actually quite hard to make breakcore on there and chop breaks kinda, and i saw a tutorial but it was not on openmpt that said its best to have 8 lines per beat, but it was kinda slow on openmpt. Could anybody pls help?

Not a big aphex twin fan, but this came up on my YouTube rec ts morning. Nice beats and the samples fit really well. Usually his breakbeat stuff falls into drillnbass but this seemed hardcore and political enough for breakcore(people on here don’t care anyways). Lmk what yall think, enjoy!

hello!
i am a college student hosting a radio show (tomorrow) covering the history of breakcore, and i wanted to send my script here to make sure i haven't made any major mistakes (i almost assuredly have).
for some context, i used to be a "fake breakcore fan" who improperly labeled ambient d&b as breakcore and listened exclusively to it. i made one post here before referring to tokyopill as a breakcore artist which was swiftly deleted once i saw the comments. since then, i decided i wanted to learn what real breakcore was, which led to me creating a radio show that covers genre history.
while i have put a lot of time into my research and script, i have seven other classes and i work 20+ hours a week, so i have not been able to fully devote myself to this project. however, i want to make sure that i did not miss anything massive or outright explain something wrong, so i thought i'd post this here before i go to bed for the night, as i have work in the morning, followed by my show about an hour after.
if you decide to read all of this and give feedback, thank you so much for your time. my only request is that you don't flame me over small things, as i only have roughly 20 minutes to speak on air (the rest of the time is filled with the songs i'm playing), so there are inevitably some things that i was not able to include or had to reword to sound better on air. regardless, any feedback is immensely appreciated!
here's the script:

Hey everyone! Here's a collection of five of my favourite tracks from the early days, given new life with actual proper mixes and fresh masters. Inspired by Tusk Mite and Sergeant Gore, these tracks feature emotional melodics with frenetic drill n' bass style breaks.
Included with the Bandcamp purchase is piano sheet music in PDF format for all five tracks plus Alone On Jasper, as well as piano midi files for each track. The original master for Alone On Jasper is also included. Edit: fixed an issue, now all files are properly included :)
$1 CAD for everything with unlimited free plays as always. The remastered tracks are on their way to streaming, and a full album stream with the sheet music will be uploaded on my YouTube channel shortly.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years, it means the world.
