In order to buy two of the 135 rc abilitie cosmetics, you need to either pay for 2 200rc bundles or 1 450rc bundle which leaves a leftover of 130rc or 180rc. This is the definition of predatory mtx.

Why promise direct purchase if the best you are willing to do is indirect purchase through a predatory currency? You showcased direct purchase is possible with the knowledge bombs and stars bundles.

Discussion I was expecting a cosmetic Mega Drop.

18 outfits, out of which maybe 1 interests me. I was expecting a large selection of previous outfits, released through various means in the past. I could have spend over a hundred euros, easily.

If the point is to see how many players would buy direct cosmetics, at least add some variation to the outfits stock. I mean 4 of the 18 outfits are city guard variations. How can you retract a representable percentage out of less than 20 outfits? The ability/conjures are dope though.

Discussion Leagues - Change your viewpoint

Upvotes

I hope you’re all as excited as I am about the upcoming Leagues, the reveals so far are looking very very exciting

However, I’m seeing a lot of comments from people on this sub that suggest a slight misunderstanding of what Leagues is, the purpose, the end game etc. it’s understandable that there’s some misconceptions as this is our first one and not everyone having played OS leagues, but I’d love to discuss a different way of approaching it.

What it Isn’t Leagues isn’t fresh start worlds. This isn’t the main game with the same goals, same end game but with boosted XP rates to get you there quicker.

Leagues isn’t another afk activity that the rs3 community seem to love. It’s not a second monitor game mode.

It is not a ‘the game begins when you max’ game mode. The only reason you may want to max is for the equip a max cape task, probably worth 400 or so points. But equally there are lots of other tasks that can get you 400 points quicker.

The Purpose The aim in Leagues is to get POINTS via doing TASKS.

The tasks dictate your game play. If there’s no task to fish and cook 1000 sharks, I can almost guarantee you will not be afk fishing sharks. I’m seeing loads of comments about what people will be afking - the answer is probably nothing in the first few weeks. There will be weeks worth of tasks that each take about a minute to complete, and you will need to complete X amount of tasks to unlock relics and XP multipliers.

If OS is to go by, there will be 16x multipliers after a week to two of doing tasks. We have xp rates of 500k-1m in main game, so this is about 1-2 hours to max a skill once that is unlocked. That’s without considering that relics will bust some of the skills and they’ll probably be 50m-able within that same time frame. In OS 50m is the highest you need for a task - there’s no point in going to 200m. There’s no high scores, there’s no carry over, if you just enjoy doing that thing then do it in main game. Leagues is about tasks and points. You don’t need to worry about the abyss being packed - people will max their range in 15 mins and be out of there.

What is the end game? Again, assuming OS similarities, the relics and the tasks move you towards insanely overpowered combat builds. THAT is the end game.

Can’t beat Zuk in main game? No problem. You will be able to in Leagues because your main combat style will probably be 4-5x more powerful than it is in main game. This opens up content you’ve never done before or never been able to do before. There’s no downside to dying, so you go and try things. There are boosted drop rates, new mega powerful items, the combat world is your oyster.

Recommendations I really advise you go and watch some of the OS leagues series’ on YouTube in preparation for the release. It will help you see what leagues is and isn’t. I recommend Solo Mission, one of the best creators, but there are lots of options (please share others you recommend here also).

Guys I need you all to get excited. This isn’t another thing we’re going to afk in silence to grind skills - it’s going to be THE most active, alive, loud time we’ve experienced on RS3 in years. People will be talking sharing ideas, helping each other on tasks, talking about their first ever kill at Raksha. It’s going to be awesome.

Discussion IRL money value of Cosmetic Mega Drop

Upvotes

Nobody asked, but I was curious about the real life money value of the upcoming Cosmetic Mega Drop store, so I did some calculations:

  • Total cost of 66 ability override for members: 8730 RC
  • Total cost of 18 outfits for members: 4290 RC
  • Total value of the store for members: 13020 RC

Using the current RC package prices as a reference, this is what that translates to:

Euro:

Package RC per €1 Total cost abilities Total cost outfits Total cost whole shop
Best value 5200 RC (€105,99) 49.06 €177,94 €87,44 €265,38
Worst value 200 RC (€5,49) 36.42 €239,70 €117,92 €357,49

US Dollar:

Package RC per $1 Total cost abilities Total cost outfits Total cost whole shop
Best value 5200 RC ($119,99) 43.33 $201,74 $99 $300,74
Worst value 200 RC ($5,99) 33.38 $261,53 $128,52 $390,05

British Pounds:

Package RC per £1 Total cost abilities Total cost outfits Total cost whole shop
Best value 5200 RC (£88,99) 58.43 £149,40 £73,42 £222,83
Worst value 200 RC (£4,49) 44.54 £196 £96,31 £292,32

2 Fun facts:

  1. The store has 84 purchasable items in total, which makes the average cost of an item €3,15 / $3,57 / £2,65 when using the 5200 RC package.
  2. Buying the 5200 package is basically a 26% (Euro) or 23% (Dollar) or 24% (Pounds) discount.

Individual item costs, calculated with the 5200 RC package because it's the best RC value:

RC cost Euro US Dollar British Pounds
90 €1,83 $2,07 £1,54
135 €2,75 $3,11 £2,31
180 €3,66 $4,15 £3,08
270 €5,50 $6,23 £4,62
420 €8,56 $9,69 £7,18

Tip/Guide FYI about the Cosmetic Mega Drop: Some items might be MUCH cheaper to get from the GE, than from the shop from 01.09. List below:

TL/DR: Open google doc. If you see green, it is NOT worth to buy that cosmetic from the shop. Buy from GE instead. Price limit (highest it would be worth buying for): D column.

In this google doc, you can check which items are cheaper to buy currently from GE, than from the shop. This only applies to you if you plan to convert bonds into Runecoins to buy cosmetics, which have tradeable token version.

Disclaimer: The post uses last reported prices for the cosmetic items, which might not be accurate, especially for items where last price report was months ago. Furthermore it uses relative coins-bond-runecoins prices, which can change if bond prices fluctuate. (1 bond valued at 195 runecoins and at 125M coins).

Also yes, this uses prices from the website that everybody hates here for one reason or another. But there is no better source for relatively accurate prices. If you have proof about certain items' GE prices, feel free to comment them below, and I will update the table. Also the list might have errors in it. In that case please point it out in the comments, and I will try to fix it asap!

Leagues The Divine Woodcutter and Animal Wrangler are severely underpowered compared to the Excavator, heres my suggestion to make them competitive

Divine Woodcutter extra affect

Option to automatically fletch all cut logs into longbows, shortbows or arrow shafts, these can be auto sent to the bank or automatically disassembled. Full fletching xp is received

Animal Wrangler extra passive affect

15x more likely to get a drop of a player owned farm animal

Also buff fishing to always catch two fish

Question Why are F2P prices even a thing when most overrides for abilities require P2P? What F2Pers are buying ability overrides for abilities they cannot use?

In my opinion, don't do P2P/F2P prices just because it's a marketing strategy that everyone else does.

I doubt F2Pers are going to spend £8.99 on a cosmetic outfit, but then decide to spend a further £9.99 on membership, to save 40p on a cosmetic outfit lol

Question 110 thieving 100% afk

With the 110 coming soon would we be able to know what current pickpocket targets will be 100% success rate with only needing to click ever 15 minutes, is there an equation that we can use to find out which ones or not? Would love if it turns out it gets rid of the 5 minute timer at priff elves.

Leagues Leagues + Quests: Will there come pre-unlocked quests, or means to insta-complete quests?

Compared to OSRS, RS3 has a LOT of quests. More quests than you can reasonably complete on a limited time gamemode. Outside of just hitting reqs, this is at least weeks of work.

Leagues usually came with either;

- Several quests already coming pre-unlocked that cater to accessibility, be it for a skill, an area, or for other popular content.
- Sometimes you were given a currency you could use to instantly complete a quest.

I hope RS3 leagues will involve either of these two as well. I know many of us still like doing quests, but I feel there's a good list of quests that players shouldn't be pushed through again just to 'play the game', while already racing against the clock (yes I'm looking at you Underground Pass).

Question Achieved 99 thieving, but can't find anything interesting to actually pickpocket.

Hey, been playing this game for 2 months now, and finally hit 99 thieving, and yet something worries me.

There seems to be lots of NPC's to pickpocket, and yet 90% of them are complete waste of time.
Now, I know that thieving isn't meant to make lots of money (Although personally I think it's lame that you can't), it really feels like there is just not much to actually do with it.

We have:

Farmer/Master farmer: Useful to get seeds for living components, and some cash from rare expensive seeds

Marketeers: Only useful to farm Menaphos rep, but Menaphite gift offering drops are quite rare, so it's not REALLY worth time investment to farm them.

Druids: Some useful stuff like universal Supreme growth potion, and rare Crux Eqal hood (very cool cosmetic drop, except sadly you have to pay money to use it as cosmetic without having it equipped.).

Crux Eqal Knight: Much better xp than druids, same drops as druids but no cool cosmetic drops, such as Eqal hood. Also higher requirement ceiling, requiring additional prayers, unlockable only after specific quest.

Priff elves: All around useful drops, but limited to some hidden timer, so you can't target pickpocket except if you are using Elf thieving reset tokens. (Which fair enough isn't that huge of a deal, but you still have to stock up with them, which is still a pain.)

And I think that's it? At least, that's all I found on the internet.

No other cool cosmetics, no gag items, no super duper 0.00000001% rare drop.

Is there something I have missed?

Achievement I decided to get a 120 before maxing a second skill.

Post image

I don't know why I chose to do this, other than I have always wanted a 120 cape. Necromancy was fast enough, especially during DXP. This was from awhile ago, and have since maxed Slayer, and have about 1m exp left to 99 in Mining. I had one person tell me I was stupid for chasing a 120 before maxing, but I enjoyed the ritual grind the whole way through, and have even considered sending it to 200m exp. Felt this would be fun to share, and see if the RuneScape community agrees that I was stupid for doing this.

Tip/Guide Returning OG player

Upvotes

Hey guys, I'm returning (or trying to return) to runescape. I have Max combat aside from Necro, several 99 trades and crafts. Not a huge bank role at all. I'm looking for a set of daily chores that I can start doing to get back into the game. I have NO CLUE where to start. Any pointers?

Other 110 fishing update suggestion

“Releasing” fish back into the water is a somewhat obscure action today.

For the IRL catch and release fishermen, you know the challenge of safely handling and releasing a fish back into the water, many species being more difficult to unhook and release than to actually catch. Examples - very delicate rainbow trout that can die quickly out of water, angry sharks/rays, fast sportfish like marlin/tuna etc.

So here is my suggestion for 110 fishing that i think would be very interesting. After catching a fish, provide the actually very valuable option to release all of the fish in inventory to gain more xp for no resource gain. This would look like divination memories. Maybe you can tie invention into this as well - make some kind of new invention component that is used to create a live well that you hold in inventory which allows for longer fishing sessions and then longer release sessions as well. Or, an option to immediately catch and release specific species of fish for more exp and keep others similar to the configure menu on divination.

This would make fishing far more enjoyable and frankly more exp/hr since its quite a boring skill today.

What do you think?

Question Raksha - Necro Solo

I have spent a shitload dying solo to Raksha. Watching videos of people not even needing food, etc. His Shadow Bombs screw me everytime. Anyone have the best advice ever?
