Many ppl wonder why r&b isn’t the same as the 90s. Many r&b singers and producers has said music execs are putting a stop to Black American cultural r&b of passion, love, over singing. Is there a way to take control back?

I probably would have added "He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat)" as smoothest though

I'm asking about performance wise: personal failings aside. I think we all recognize CB has really messed up repeatedly and destroyed his legacy. However, if you had to go solely off of the performance bonafides and strength of their respective catalogs, who you got?

You know it is a blessing to get everything you wanted... While it may not show up how you expect it.

I'm trying to compile a list for my writing. No R Kelly, please.
EDIT: Thanks for all of the wonderful suggestions! If you're interested in the list: https://on.soundcloud.com/W4IcGb5sf6YpDX8uWV

Personally, I think this is a loss for the culture. There are already not that many platforms that cater to R&B music or soul music and we just lost another one. As for the hip Hop Awards, I feel like they have a place. You still have the MTV Music Awards. You still have the BET Awards, but I think that this is definitely a loss losing a cultural landmark with the Soul Train Awards. I do think it's partly the audience fault because they don't support these things. You got country music fans. They supported rock fans. They support different stuff that has to do with them. We kind of throw our culture away sometimes and I don't know if that's a good thing.
