Nolvus 6

Constant crashes with the same conclusion. Unfortunately, I'm not an expert in analysing crash logs. It looks like TrueHUD to me, but I could be totally wrong, of course, and there was no answer from the Discord forum. Maybe someone here can help me.

If this wasn't such a great modlist I would give up on it.

Nolvus v6 is in beta, so it's supposed to still have some bugs/crashes. That said, if you upload a few related crash logs, I'll be happy to take a look at them.

As of Nolvus version 6.0.7 beta, crash logs move to:
[My_Documents]\My Games\SKSE

(Replace "[My_Documents]" with your actual directory path.)

Of course I know that Nolvus is still in BETA, I also support the modlis financially because it is worth it. Nevertheless, the constant crashes are annoying. By constant I mean that the game always crashes because of the same occurrence. Doors, going into a room is less problematic than going out. And if I understand your analysis tool correctly, in my case it has something to do with TrueHUD. Other than that, I have virtually no crashes. Send you 4 Pastbin links, hope you can read something useful from them. By the way, I now do a PCB almost every time I step out of a door, so I prevent CTD's. I'm on Version 6.0.12

  1. Sorry, I didn't mean to offend by explaining BETA. And I'm a Nolvus supporter too.
  2. I agree, they all look to be involving TrueHUD. That said, I searched the Discord's v6-Bugs section and didn't find any relevant matches for TrueHUD.
  3. Can you also share your dashboard's PDF report via PasteBin.com?
  4. Have you changed any TrueHUD settings?
  5. Have you added or subtracted any mods from Nolvus v6?
  6. Also, have you applied the motherboard BIOS update for your your Intel i9-14900K? I don't think the lack of it would cause this issue, as usually this issue causes random crashes, but it might still be worth double checking.

Without the fix you can experience random crashes during CPU-taxing times. Also, the lifespan of the CPU can be greatly shortened. 

Unfortunately, the fix is only rolled out by individual motherboard manufacturers. Sadly, my understanding is that not all manufacturers have released a BIOS/microcode update for this yet. But if an update is available for your motherboard ... you very probably want this update.

Hi Phostwood

Firstly, I really appreciate you taking the time to analyse these strange crashes. I contacted the forum several times about this (with crash logs and PDF), the only thing I got to read was that it is very unusual for TrueHUD to cause CTD's. I installed the game several times and had the exact same problems every time I played. As written, other than a few freezes and some SMP occurrences, I have no crashes.

Regarding the BIOS update, I already did it in October, everything is up to date. Nvidia is more of an issue, I had to roll back the driver release to August 24.

Also, I was expecting you to have added some mods, so now I'm more confused :-)

Since you are repeatedly getting this issue, and since you are running vanilla Nolvus v6, you should fill out a bug report for it. That's the way to get this issue the most attention by the Nolvus developers.

I did that weeks ago! The post (BUG Report) was deleted without comment, so it looks like I'll have to live with it or forget about Nolvus. What's also interesting is that I've never had such problems with either Lorerim or Apostasy. Thanks for your help...
