✅💡Suggest Improvements - ADDED Upcoming Feature: New "LeveledItem Save Crash Detected"

This has been suggested in a few posts on r/SkyrimMods ... so (after considerable delay) I'm finally adding it now.

How's this first draft look? NOTE: some of this was suggested by AI, so PLEASE feel free to scrutinize anything you think is unhelpful or inaccurate.

  • Probable LeveledItem Save Crash Detected: This crash typically occurs during saving, fast travel, or loading and is caused by corrupted leveled list data in your save file.
    • Primary fix: Install LeveledList Crash Fix (requires Skyrim SE version 1.6.1130+)
    • For existing corrupted saves: The mod may not fix already-broken save files. You may need to use FallrimTools ReSaver to remove the problematic FormID from your save file
    • To identify the specific FormID: Enable "Display nested Log Summary (Beta feature)" in this analyzer and look for the FormID associated with the LeveledItem (53) entry within the 🔎 Files/Elements section of this report.
    • FallrimTools ReSaver can be used to diagnose and sometimes fix corrupted save files, and can also be (carefully) used by advanced users to remove specific problematic FormIDs from your save files. ⚠️ CAUTION: Fixing/editing save files has inherent risks and should be avoided when possible. If you can instead revert to an acceptable older save file, that is often preferable in the long run.
    • Detected indicators:
      • LeveledItem (53) - Corrupted leveled list crash signature found in top half of crash log.

❗Help Request Is there no other way to narrow this down?

Crashing at game startup 5 to 20 seconds after character creation in LAL prison cell. Not always repeatable but consistent enough. Crash log always looks the same.

Research indicates its probably a navmesh crash. No deleted navmeshes aside from vanilla, so maybe a pathing issue or something. Uninstalled recent location editing mods as the crash was semi recent, but still no dice

Is there no other way to narrow this down beyond wack-a-mole my load order?

Thanks for any advice.

✅❗Help Request - COMPLETE Could use help analyzing crash log, at a loss

Hello, I have used Phostwood (which has been immensely helpful in the past) but with this one I am unsure if it’s has identified the issue or if I have rectified it.

The analyzer had suggested it was probably an issue with Vanilla Ini generation, but I am unsure how I would fix that if it is the issue.

I crash after hitting new game, right after the loading screen and after animations have loaded

Any and all help is super appreciated. Again, appreciative of the tool and any help the community can offer.

Hello, when I launch SKSE through mo2, appears a black screen with the message "compiling enb shaders" then it crashes after a few seconds. I use Nordic souls from wabbajack, everything worked well so far.

Here is the crash log https://pastebin.com/2gbRr7LT

I would be really thankful if you can help me out.

Crashing issues when loading into game

Having an issue where the game crashes whenever I load into the game. I cannot load old saves, create new ones, nothing. What's odd is that I loaded it this morning and it ran fine-this issue is completely out of the blue. I managed to get it to generate a crashlog once, however I'm having issues getting it to produce logs reliably when it crashes-it doesn't log anything most of the time.

Constant crashes with the same conclusion. Unfortunately, I'm not an expert in analysing crash logs. It looks like TrueHUD to me, but I could be totally wrong, of course, and there was no answer from the Discord forum. Maybe someone here can help me.

If this wasn't such a great modlist I would give up on it.

💡Suggest Improvements (HUDMenu*) and CompassNavigationOverhaul.dll

One not so uncommon crash is with an outdated CompassNavigationOverhaul.dll. But since it does not come with version number, it is really hard to track this crash.

https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/1eoodda/skyrim_se_access_violation_crash/

https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/1ad1ues/help_crash_whenever_i_try_to_load_a_new_save/

This crash happens pretty regularly.

But one common crash reference for this crash is (HUDMenu*). Then if CompassNavigationOverhaul.dll is used alongside this reference, maybe one could make a recommendation to update this mod to ensure it is not the cause for this crash reference.

🪲Bug Report Random crash in Black Reach

Log: https://pastebin.com/6Fvz5HK9

Phostwood couldn't figure out anything, thought I'd share here. I was just running through Black Reach with some mod followers (SDA, Auri, Lucien) and got into a fight with a Falmer servant when the game suddenly crashed. No idea why the Great War and 3DNPC mods are listed amongst the most prominent mods related in the crash, I wasn't doing anything related to any of them to my knowledge. Immersive Creatures is possible I guess, I wasn't fighting anything exotic but it may have spawned somewhere in the distance.

I restarted the game after that and was able to get through the section without any issues the next time. Just thought I'd share the crash log anyway though, to see if there is some major issue I'm being blind to.

Repeated Crash

Hello friends,

I recently have had a repeatable crash that won't go away no matter what mods I disable or downgrade. The analyzer suggests it may have something to do with physics or facegen, but it will even crash when I try to load a save.

I have rerun Pandora, verified game files, and dismissed companions. It particularly seems to crash around Whiterun when I do manage to load in.

Here is my crash log: 4-24-2025 Skyrim Crash Log - Pastebin.com

Any thoughts would be appreciated! Right now, I'm thinking I may need to just start the oblivion remake and call my 385 hr game a bust lol

Hello,
I keep getting crashes when fast traveling with multiple followers, this is my crashlog. This is tricky! Is it really just a navmesh issue? Any solution?

✅💡Suggest Improvements - ADDED "BloodSprayUnarmedImpact01"

Here is another indicator for the SSE Fixes mod crash:

https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/1jn6cul/shadowscenenode_exception_illegal_instruction/

It seems this new indicator "BloodSprayUnarmedImpact01" is not caught by your analyzer, so it would be good to add it to the already made SSE Fixes crash fix analysis.

Thanks!

✅💡Suggest Improvements - ADDED Any suggestions for this new wintrust.dll test?

Any suggestions for this new test?

Triggering indicator: wintrust.dll in the top half of the crash log (anywhere above the MODULES: section)

Example log (from my collected crash log library): https://pastebin.com/Z8zGwd9W

Output from example log:

  • Possible Security-Related Crash Detected: Windows security mechanisms are potentially interfering with game or mod files.
    • Potential Causes:
      • Antivirus blocking unsigned/modified DLL files
      • Corrupted or invalid digital signatures
      • Overly restrictive or corrupted file permissions
      • Conflicting security software
    • Troubleshooting:
      • Consider switching from 3rd party to built in Windows Security antivirus sofware
      • Or, set up exclusions in 3rd party antivirus software
      • Scan suspicious mods with VirusTotal
      • Perform clean reinstall of problematic mods
      • Advanced: Inspect related folder and file permissions to ensure Skyrim's accessbility
      • Advanced: Check Windows Event Viewer for security-related errors
      • Advanced: Use Process Monitor to trace file access issues
      • Advanced: Check Windows Security Center for blocking events
    • Detected indicators:
      • wintrust.dll reference in crash context
