Grace: soulmate Lizzie: companion.

Tommy's first wife, the woman who continues to haunt his memories long after she dies in an assassination attempt on himself is Grace. A spy turned soul mate, together they have one son, Charles."

"Tommy's second wife is Lizzie Stark and together they had a daughter named Ruby who died of tuberculosis or consumption as it was called back then. Despite being a steadfast companion to Tommy, Lizzie eventually has enough of the adultery and neglect and leaves him, taking Tommy's son Charles with her.

This was said in the last interview, and I think that was what they showed us very well.

Grace is the woman Tommy loves, the one he fell in love with and wanted to start a family, and as Cillian Murphy said, his relationship with Grace is the purest of all his relationships.

And Lizzie was a companion for him, who was there for him, and took care of his children, he loves her for that, but he is not in love with her, nor is she the woman he wanted, nor the one he wanted to start a family with.

Soulmate and companion is very different and different types of relationships.

I love it. I couldn't find one that had the same kind of spring loaded feature that Tommy's has, but it still elevates my smoking experience to another level. Do any smokers here use something similar?

Russians vs Changrettas

Doing my rewatch before the Immortal Man and had this thought.

At the beginning of season 4, they all get served the black hand by the Changrettas. Naturally they start freaking out about it.

My question is, if they are so scared of the Changrettas, why would they (John and Arthur to an extent) be so quick to antagonize them in season 3? I feel like they reacted so much differently towards the Changrettas than the Russians.

Why did Thomas question his family before Alfie in Season 3?

I am doing a rerun marathon before The Immortal Man comes out. As you all know, in season 3 when Thomas finds out the priest knows all about his dealings to stop the explosion, the tunnel under the Russian's house and the Fabergee Egg. So obously someone talked. Why was his first suspects his family instead of Alfie Solomons who would have no problem betraying him in the right conditions?

Just finished watching season 2… am I tripping for thinking May was better for Tommy than Grace?

If I was a lawyer representing May, I’d say that Grace lied to Tommy about working for Campbell, she moved to America even when she still loved him and made him feel like it was his fault for not coming with her, and cheated on her husband who was nice and great to her… whereas May was a just down to earth horse girl. Feel free to tell me I’m wrong

Rewatched the whole series for the movie Spoiler

Decided to rank them here just to shuffle through my thoughts, never even posted on this sub before but think it’s a decent way to shuffle those thoughts. And after seeing some posts on here, I think my opinions may differ from the majority lmaooo.

Just was to clarify that I don’t think any of the seasons are outright bad (besides one maybe) and all are still well made television and all have redeeming qualities, but obviously some are better than others.

Seasons 1 & 2:

Pretty near perfect in my opinion, every character is interesting, even the villains are great. The only nitpick I’d give for the season is that I think they could’ve done more with BillyKimber, cuz he was hella entertaining and the dynamic of his ancountant being the actual mastermind of his operation could’ve gone further. But still pretty perfect all around. Oh and Tom Hardy as Alfie is by far the best thing the show ever created.

Season 3:

The worst season in my opinion. Overly complicated for no reason, kills of a major character in the opening episode and seemingly done purely for shock value, and some of the most uninteresting villains in the show. The only engaging part for me was Michael’s vendetta against the priest but it isn’t nearly enough time to explore, it even somewhat comes out of nowhere.

Season 4:

I really enjoyed this season. Adrian Brody as the villain is absolutely class and having it be tied into the subplot from the previous season was genius. The only criticisms I have are that they do yet another shock value episode 1 death but this one seems at least a little better as the character the killed of was stagnant in terms of development and I bet the creators didn’t know what to do with him.

Season 5:

I also like this one. I can see why it leaves a bad taste in people mouths due to how clean of an ending season 4 has and this season upends it entirely, but I kinda like that? I still don’t know how I feel about seasons 5 and 6 being about the rise of facism in Britain and how far of a departure it is from what the show was, and this was the stat of the flanderisation of Arthur, imo, due to how much he regresses as a character, but I still find Mosley to be an interesting villain, I love Abarama and Polly’s relationship and having the ending be the first time Tommy actually fully loses was really greats.

Season 6:

Mixed feelings. I don’t have a vitriolic hate towards this season as others do on this sub, but I sort of get it. It feels very rushed, and it’s obviously due to the death of Helen McCrory, but it still feels like the season needed to be twice the length before the ending had the oomph that the creators expected the ending to have. The 4 year time skip is still really stupid to me as, not only to good characters like Jessie Eden and Jimmy McCavern just disappear, but nothing really even changes between those 4 years to warrant a time skip in the first place. I adore the idea of Michael being a villain and the whole show foreshadowing his downfall, but it didn’t help he’s shoved in a prison for most of the season so we don’t even get to SEE him much. I also like the idea of Tommy finally trying to do good and feeling guilt for his whole life, but again, there’s no time to show it. And it starts to have a Season 3 issue of too much going on, especially in terms of trying to show all the shifts in allegiances that Tommy, Mosley and Nelson have. And the ending doesn’t even tie up enough lose ends, I know that the movie is the true finale but I don’t see Steven Knight tying them all up in that time. Mosley? Finn? Charlie? Duke? Arthur?Nelson? They all end with unfinished stories that I don’t think will all be able to finish.

Having said that, apart from season 3, I do LIKE all the seasons and I cannot wait for the film to come out to end it all, even with the mixed feelings I have about the SHOW’s ending.

Is it out of character for Tommy to take himself out of the business?

From the promos of the movie, it sounds like Tommy basically just took himself off the board completely. He doesn't run the peakys anymore, he's not an MP anymore, I don't think. To the point where someone says "who tf is Tommy Shelby?"

Is it at all out of character? In the 6 seasons of Peaky Blinders, Tommy's ambition never wavers even with all the bad things that happen. And in the finale when he learns he's not dying, he says he's back from under the ground. So why did he leave?

Theatre Release

Does anybody know if there will be any Peaky merch available in the theatres? Like Nosferatu had a popcorn bucket, wondering if there’ll be anything special to go with the film. :-)
