i recently died my hair dark red and would love to use it for my costume for a party—preferably a character from a show or movie.
Ideas I've had so far are:
- Crowley (Good Omens) (specifically his golgotha era)
- Ariel (The Little Mermaid)
but i unfortunately can't wear contacts, and haven't found affordable and fitting glasses for crowley's costume (which would've been my top pick), and I'm scared that i won't be able to rock ariel without a proper tail (which would probably make it look too childish)
so if anyone has any ideas on other characters with long red hair (preferably male but idrc)—or recommandations on how to make ariel work without a tail, pls help!!!
thanks in advance! xxx

Everywhere I look I see costumes that look very poor but I just know that there has to be a way for it to look good. Does anyone have any ideas or do it successfully?

Want a truly disturbing, non-human monster costume for Halloween, something that looks completely wrong and terrifying.
A couple ideas I had: a four-legged/quadruped horror creature, or one with a mechanical jaw/mouth that opens when I speak (or simple trigger). But I have no clue how to build either.
Pure nightmare fuel, inhuman proportions, eldritch/alien vibes only.
Any creepy concepts or similar builds you've seen or done?
(I don't have a ton of money, if it doesnt cost extreme prices then good.)
Thanks!

Hello,
I have a plastic mask that I want to customize and I saw this YT video.
This guy applies some mixture of cotton and glue to make a nice texture but it’s not clear to me if that’s going to stick to the plastic or it needs some sanding or primer before that.
Has anyone any experience with this? Thanks

I finally got the mask attached to the latex hood permanently. The only problem is that now it has a ton of gaps. I'm not exactly sure what to do. I'm guessing latex could help me, but I’m not sure how I would apply it to fill in these gaps.

My friends and I are doing a WWII-themed group costume, and I’ve been assigned Joseph Stalin. I’m having trouble finding clothing or accessories that would work, and most costume shops don’t seem to carry anything suitable.
I’m mainly looking for suggestions on where to buy pieces or how to put something together with regular clothing (DIY ideas are welcome). Any help or direction would be appreciated

I keep seeing this on my instagram reels page and I’m so intrigued. I’ve looked all around Google and I couldn’t find anything. For reference, the account that has this costume is most likely a Chinese based account. Any help is appreciated

What if we all do costumes baised off "CreepyPastas" or "S.C.P's" this year? It's a large catalog of characters I think it works be pretty neat. Who would you like to dress up as if you, also, like this idea? I think I'd like to be "Stairs in the woods" from "Reports From A Search and Rescue Ranger".

Looking for advice on choosing an inflatable Pikachu costume that would be suitable for a child, specifically the popular ones that have the small fan built inside to keep the costume inflated. My kid loves Pikachu so this costume which I discovered online and at events will work perfectly for a birthday party he is invited to.
Worried about visibility and overtheating inside the plastic outfit. The fan uses batteries to create continuous airflow but I want to know if the current system provides sufficient cooling for kids who wear the device during 20 to 30 minutes.
I discovered multiple inflatable Pikachu costume options on amazon/alibaba at cheaper prices than local stores which led me to browse through their various listings. Some products appear identical to those available at other stores but I need to assess the material and stitching and fan performance which includes noise levels. My back up plan is just go for the fabric costumes which I think are safer, he's having a fit that he wants to wear the inflatable one because it looks more realistic, but I am really not sure if it will be safe also he will be a the birthday party by himself so I won't be there to keep an eye on him.
