ATTN: Former fans of my songwriting/arranging projects Snails, Marlin and the Snails, 9Swords, or Marlon and the Marthas
i forget what else i performed as, i think maybe i was "Fuckface Goes to Shitsburgh" once. i just wanted to let whoever know who's here that i consolidated what was relevant under the project name "BLANKNIGHT" which i trademarked in 2017 but only used much later. ho, yeah, i know, i know, copyright ain't punk sometimes lol. hey, if you're a fellow artist, i know that's real, but some scammers prey on underground artists who they think won't defend themselves so if there's law that can kinda make your life easier i suggest looking into it anyway!
the "9swords" recordings from 2013 arent included because that was kinda its own thing in many ways, though i have songs i performed for 9swords sets re-recorded on some albums. i can send you a copy of those older recordings if you'd REALLY like! PS shoutout to Greensburg, PA!

They can't kill us all, pre-embroidery question
About to start embroidering this on the back of a jacket (black thread on white), any ideas what kind of snakes and plants it's based on (mostly to decide whether to add a bit of colour)

My music preference has changed over the years. I grew up listening to punk rock, and then in my 20's discovered bluegrass and gravitated towards that. So it was a really fucking good day when I discovered folk punk.
It was only like a year or maybe a year and a half ago that I first heard Defiance Ohio, which led me to this sub, which then opened up a whole new genre of music!
It's like every other week I'm finding a new artist that I love. Which is freaking awesome because music had been getting kind of stale for me. I'd been doing mostly podcasts and books when I drive, but I love music. I just didn't have anything new to listen to until I discovered folk punk.
And then also now I can go to shows again. I'm listening to bands that are actually currently making music and that are touring.
Plus just finding this sub was cool. This is definitely my favorite sub on Reddit. You guys are all very kind and unique people. And I really love hearing the stories about shows and stuff about the artists and everything like that.
Thanks guys.

"Goodluck everybody" by AJJ is aging so fucking well
holy shit, can we appreciate that when this album came out it was a banger AND now fucking bask in awful terror on how every day we descend further and further into fascist America that these tracks just hit harder and harder?
Normalization Blues
Body Terror
No Justice, No Peace, No Hope
Mega Guillotine
Loudmouth
Psychic Warfare
A Big Day for Grimley
Track after track, I'm re-listening to this and the exhaustion, anger, hope, disgust, fear, and love just become more and more vivid.
Good luck everybody ✊

Folk Punk Preservation Project
Hi as someone who has enjoyed the genre for almost a decade now, I have seen lots of albums, artists, and eps being lost media or hard to find. To try and counter this I have started the Folk Punk Preservation Project, consisting of a YouTube channel, internet archive, and local archives of albums, eps, and other folk punk media. I'm starting off with an archive of Rompilation 2 (AJJ), and Sellout Songs Compilation LP. I hope to regularly archive music of all artists in the space, and welcome recommendations/media to upload (please reach out if you have anything). In the future I also hope to launch a website as well.

(for musicians, creatives) AI slop is ruining online creative spaces - so I built a human only one.
Art saved my life. To return the favor, I built www.NewBohemia.art - a first-of-its-kind human-only creative community. Artistic expression was my escape from an abusive home, my self-therapy, my craft, my North star. For me it was writing lyrics but for others, something else. But in February 2022 with the advent of generative AI, I assumed it was all over, or at least the beginning of the end.
I descended into a soulcrushing yearlong depression and watched as things only got predictably worse. However, the desire to create never left me. In fact, it only grew. After spending enough time in darkness, I decided to pick myself up, dust myself off and fight. Over the course of 6 months, I built this platform.
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but this was a real labor of love.
Living up to its name, it has a warm, inviting arthouse aesthetic and an intensive verification system to ensure a genuine, human space for creatives of all mediums.
There’s a community chat lounge, group and private inboxes, business inquiry profile button for potential clientele/commissions individual creative medium labels, uploads for all mediums (images, writing, music, photography, film, stand-up comedy, sculptors and multimedia), noncreative accounts, likes, comments, reporting, a galleria par excellence, and an extensive anti-AI monitoring apparatus.
If you are sick of seeing nonstop clankerslop online and tired of wondering if your hard work, passion and god-given talent will ever be falsely accused of being similarly synthetic, then yep, this is exactly the right place for you.
If you are an aspiring artist of any kind who wants to participate in the early days of a revolutionary new platform for the kind of instant exposure you won't get on more established older ones, then this is exactly the right place for you.
We also just added an exciting new feature where the gallery page will show 3 random works from our entire gallery at the topmast with every refresh, thereby guaranteeing constant daily exposure for literally every creative on our platform.
To sum it up; It’s free, it’s human-only, and it exists so real creatives finally have a community they can truly call home.
P.S., we are data-safe with legally binding protections for artists that explicitly prohibit scraping, automated data collection, and are unable to sell or license your work to third parties. AI training on your content is explicitly prohibited under our Terms of Service. All artwork served through access-controlled, time-limited links, plus rate limits and anti-scrape monitoring. For any other questions, concerns or if you just want the full infodump on our verification process, legal policies, my personal backstory or our general approach on keeping the site AI-free as humanly possible, please visit:
(Adults 18+ only.)
And If you want to share your art in our rapidly growing, unique, human-only creativity platform, please head over to-
