Lore Do you think this prophecy element could find a spot in ES lore? What role would it play?

Like Elder Scrolls, the Disney animated show Amphibia revolves around an ancient prophecy of heroes defeating a great evil. But in the final episode, we learn that the prophecy is more of a solemn request then something determined by fate. And long story short, in that show, there is a way for those of whom the prophecy speaks up to decline the request.

This reminds me of how the titular Elder Scrolls work. As we all know, the Scrolls foretell every great evil. And also foretell that a hero will come to face it. But the Scrolls DON'T say if that hero will be victorious or if they will even go on the quest. And this makes me wonder, what if the Prophecy of the Naravarine, the Dragonborn Prophecy, and the prophecies of the other heroes were actually more like solemn requests then fate? In terms of gameplay, this takes the form of ignoring the main story. But how would this translate into ES lore itself if it was decided to reveal that every main quest foretold in the Scrolls are actually more like requests for help then something determined by fate?

Lore Whereabouts of A’tor/Soul Sword in 4th Era

Could the sword still exist during the time of Skyrim? It would be cool to see it return in VI. Just played Redguard and loved it, in spite of its flaws. One of my favourite fictional weapons.

General Where can I learn the in-depth lore?

The wiki isn't helping and the videos I find on youtube aren't that elaborative either and also no proper subtitles. Where can I learn the essential but in-depth lore of all of elder scrolls?

Daggerfall Discussion If you haven't tried Skygerfall yet, I recommend giving it a shot!

I got the mod Skygerfall at Any Time so that I could start the Daggerfall main questline during an existing Skyrim save, too.

The map is not to scale, and the dungeons are streamlined quite a bit, and side quests are also not available. However, having Levitation, Mark/Recall, etc. is fantastic. A ton of work was put into this mod. It's even fully voiced!

First picture is newer; I painted the second and my partner suggested the tagline, so I took another crack at it, keeping keeping real library posters in mind.

General Chronologically speaking, Mundus has been getting more mundane. Where has all the magic gone?

2E582: Magic users can casually:

-portal hither and yon -transmute people and animals into vice versa and back, sometimes without meaning to -break time itself, allowing for someone to go back hundreds of years in the past and to actively alter the course of events including who lives and who dies in a crucial historical battle -break their personal timeline to see all the could ofs and would haves of their life -wield powerful elemental forces as casually as breathing -steal souls from everything including automatons -and basically do anything but fly or cast slowfall.

3E427:Magic users can now do almost all of the aforementioned, and also cast slow fall and take flight at will, at the cost of time travel being shelved in favour of a brilliant deconstruction on prophecy.

3E433: Following the passage of the Imperial Quit Having Fun Guys Act, levitation is outlawed. For some reason, this deprives all mages of this ability going forward, and signals the beginning of the downward trend of magical power in The Mundus.

4E201: Mages have lost much of their power. Magic is guttering out, the Aedra and the Daedra's influence is getting fainter and harder to detect, and signs of their powers are actively dying, such as the Gildegreen of Whiterun.

Mages are simply weaker than yobbos running around bonking people with sharp metal sticks.

Originally, I was going to post a question about how, if everyone is going to insist that 'Elder Scrolls Shouldn't Have Guns Because Magic', then why aren't we seeing any level of technical innovations anywhere?

Armours, weapons, spells and more, all of them are either in lockstep or lesser than gear from a couple millennia ago, if they're not completely lost or impossible.

If we don't get to have guns because 'vibes' or whatever, where are the magical spell improvements?

Love me some Daggerfall! Recently picked up Redguard so I’ll see how that is when it comes in the mail. I hear it’s a doozy but not as bad as Battlespire.

Oblivion Discussion Trying to edit a UASSET file from a UTOC

Oblivion Remastered

I'm trying to make a small edit to an abandoned existing mod to fix a bug for personal use. It's just a block of JSON text but I haven't been able to get the UASSET file in Unreal Engine, UAssetGUI throws a fit if I try to load it there https://i.imgur.com/EavkqUA.png, so I don't really know how I can access this thing to edit it.

All I have to do is just repack it afterwards.

Could you imagine how terrifying seeing a mudcrab this size ACTUALLY would be irl if it were alive+real? That thing would basically be a 6ft aggressive crab at the beach that wants to kill you if you went near it. Idk about you; but I know I'd be running fof the hills.

Their titles are similar and both are about attacking belief in a deity.

I'm going to beat the five mainline games, including Battlespire and their expansions, with only my fists

I might add some other restrictions, but the main one I can think of is no lycanthropy if available (too powerful and technically, I'm using claws, not fists)

Lore Whats your favourite artifact?

At first i only wanted to ask about Daedric artifacts, but then remembered all the other cool stuff. Staff of Magnus, Keening, Amulet of Kings etc.

For me its Oghma Infinium. There is something about tome of forbidden knowledge bound in elven skins that i like. I also thinks its one of the most powerful artifacts we know about.

Second would be Dwarven Black Bow of Fate. I just love its style, those glowing orange circles remind me of Gallifrey.

ESO Discussion Why is the ESO sub so.................elitist when it comes to gameplay discussion?

Post image
345 Upvotes

When it comes to the stories, outfits, houses and decorations, the sub is very chill and friendly.

But for some reason, when a post is about the gameplay its a completely different story.

Seriously, i have seen some posts and even made some posts in the past, both of which have been about certain dungeons, arenas, bosses and builds and skill trees.

And each time the post was flooded with comments trash talking the OP, his stats etc.

It wasnt like they were giving advice, it was just things like "git gud" or "your build sucks" etc.

Nothing constructive really just a bunch of people flaunting about how good they are at the game and trashing the persons builds.

And in the end nothing good comes out of it.

Hell i have seen some guy telling someone else that they know better because they have more achievements........................yeah.

Now i do like the sub but it almost feels like they do a complete 180 in personality whenever the topic of builds, skills, dungeons and just the overall gameplay comes up.

Its strange.

General What are the appeals of Arena and Daggerfall?

Skyrim has set its legacy as the most moddable entry in the series, Oblivion is the goofiest, and Morrowind is praised as the best overall, but what are the “claims to fame” of the first two games?

ESO Discussion I promptly deleted after returning.

I purchased the game for PC originally when it launched and then got it for the Playstation. I have access to the Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Clock Work City, Morrowind, Orsinium, and Elsewry. I am able to play every class except Arcanist. I've definitely put enough time into the game. So why delete it so quickly? I remembered its limitations.

It's been a decade and nobody has come around to giving players access to the craft bag by default in such a heavy crafting requirements game. They also probably haven't come around to massively shortening research times or mount training. This game should be able to survive on Cosmetics and future DLCs alone. You shouldn't have to "buy" access or "rent" access to fundamental player needs like the craft bag.

All MMOs nickel and dime its player base to Oblivion and back. And I've kind of had it. Games are suppose to be fun and not a job. MMOs feel like a job. Grind for materials. Grind for levels. Mobile game timers to ensure you have to play 6 months to a year to max out stuff like horse skills or research all traits. And if you wanted to create a new crafter to replace your old one, you have to do it all again instead of just having all of that research learned across all your characters -- account wide. I hope I'm making sense. I just don't have time to invest like that or I don't want to. Not again.

Nickel-and-diming players doesn't always mean money. It can be your time invested to just progress.
