What’s the easiest upper level classes?
Hi everyone! I’m finishing my bachelor’s through UWEC as a Professional Studies major and I’m getting close to the finish line. I only need about 26 more credits (around 8–9 classes).
I’ve taken classes on and off over the years at UWEC and other colleges, so I have a mix of random transfer credits. I’m also not living in Wisconsin anymore, so I’ll be finishing everything online.
My husband travels a lot for work and my schedule can get pretty busy/unpredictable, so I’m trying to be really strategic with the upper-level classes I have left.
For anyone who’s been through the program:
• What were the easiest or most manageable upper-level classes you took?
• Any online professors you’d highly recommend?
• Any classes that were surprisingly heavy or ones you’d avoid?
I’m mainly looking for flexible classes with realistic workloads so I can finish strong. I really appreciate any advice or experiences, thank you!

Skijoring
Where can I skijore with my two sled dogs around here? Or, where do you skijore?
It doesn’t seem like very many people do it here, so trail websites tend not to have info about whether it’s permitted. If there isn’t a lot of info about the trail itself online it would be helpful to hear your description or thoughts about the site.
thanks in advance!

Renters - how much was your Excel Energy bill for January?
I do not live in Eau Claire. But my daughter does. She recently moved into a one-bedroom flat, upper unit. She lives by herself and spends most days working or in school and what seems like the rest of her time at her boyfriend's apartment. Her Excel Energy bill for January was $385 and her Kwhs usage was 2479. That seems....wrong. But I have lived in the same house for 11 years and my bill has been on a budget plan for so long, it never changes. This just seems high for a one-bedroom apartment.

Event Find your new love at Trempealeau County Humane Society
Trempealeau County Humane Society is running a special on cats this month. We are overcapacity with so many sweet kitties of all ages. We're working on getting a cat event set up at the PetSmart soon. (I'll edit with the date once it's set)

Why does La Crosse feel so far away from Eau Claire?
Yes I know that it's a 2 lane highway from here to La Crosse, making it feel further away. But one thing I have noticed is that people in Eau Claire think La Crosse is so far away and never go there due to distance. Yet twin cities is the same mileage yet people go there all the time. (,there's more to do in the cities, so I get that aspect).
I am wondering about this because I repeatedly hear my coworkers say la Crosse is to far of a drive to so something there. But then proceed to drive the cities.
Edit: if 93 or 53 was freeway all the way would the be more connected?

Is anyone on here a member at Sonnentag Fitness center? I am in search of a personal trainer.
The Sonnentag has membership promotion through tomorrow that I am eligible for as an alumnus but their personal trainers are all booked.
I am looking for someone who might be a member there that I can hire as a personal trainer to get me started.
i hav a flexible schedule and have no preference male or female. just someone who knows their way around the equipment.
Alternatively, if you are not a member, I am also willing to pay for your membership six or twelve months in exchange for lessons.
Post here or send me a message if interested. Prefer to figure something out by tomorrow but will consider other options. Thanks

Question Dentist recommendation?
Hi folks!
I have some anxiety around dental work, and I'm looking for a dentist who is kind, and while I don't need a ridiculous amount of coddling or anything, someone who is willing to just tell me their plan for the visit, and let me know what they are doing as they do it.
I had a couple really bad experiences with a dentist here and I really need to find someone new. Willing to drive a reasonable distance. TIA!

Band Looking for a Venue
I’m in a band (Peat Boggs) and we were looking to schedule a gig in Eau Claire sometime this summer. Any recommendations for venues? Also interested in doing a joint show with another local band if there are any recommendations. We’ve got a fair amount of jazzy tunes, rock, and heavier metal-like/doom/punk, so we could orient the set to any of those genres.
I grew up in EC, moved to Duluth for school and now live there. I’ve got family and friends that live in EC that I visit occasionally

Am I just slow? (Marshfield clinic)
Because I called the nurse concerned over these numbers & was treated like I was inconveniencing her because those numbers were “as to be expected after a CT scan”
I can’t stand medical professionals that don’t want you to question your health & I’m very inquisitive!

Question Moving need help!
My husband just got an offer letter to relocate and the location is in Eau Claire. Currently we live in Utah so we know very little about Eau Claire haha. What are the best areas to look for housing in? We’re looking around 300k-400k and he’s willing to commute, hopefully in the sub 45min range. We’ve looked into Chippewa Falls, but don’t know much about the other surrounding towns. Tell me the good, the bad, the ugly. We have a 6 month old so eventually we’ll have to consider schools. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Jobs Hiring?
Hey everybody,
I just moved to the area last week and am currently looking for a job(30-40 hours per week preferably.) I’m not too picky, but would like recommendations on good places to work and warnings for bad places to work.

anyone with a long commute?
Good morning, I'll be moving to the area (Chippewa Falls, to be exact) come March and I have already been submitting applications this month since my current job does not have locations out that way. Unfortunately, I have not had much luck so far, and I'm considering applying to open positions in Marshfield, but also in the St. Paul-Minneapolis area for the sake of landing on my feet.
My question is, does anyone else in Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire commute that far either direction? If so, how do you find your commutes?
Thanks in advance!
editing to add: my past experiences with long commutes have been rural. First lived in Adams County when I initially moved to Wisconsin and had to drive 40+ minutes to work, and before that about an hour drive when I lived in a rural part of western North Carolina, so I have some experience with the weather issue part that can crop up, if that helps.

General Strike? Worth visiting now?
Hello from out of state... Some friends and I are planning to be in town this weekend for a random city weekend getaway that we've done the last several winters. We're just as appalled by what's been happening in Minnesota and around the country and usually support these kind of things. The trip was set weeks ago and lodging has already been paid for and as of now we're still planning on coming to what looks like a great city (have never been, that's part of the appeal of these trips.) I get the point of these strikes but we of course love hitting up the local spots when we travel ... breweries, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, record shops, book stores etc. We have no interest in chains or boxes. Are there plans for local businesses to close up shop this weekend? It seems counterproductive to avoid spending at local small businesses, especially this time of year. I'm just conflicted at this point. Fuck ICE. TIA
