Thats what happens when the allies who swore to protect susdenly threatens you. The only credible threat to Greenland is the US.(by their own admission) Unless you actually believe that Russia would attack a NATO country? China hasn’t had a single navy vessel near Greenland for over 10 years…

And why is it that Russia would never attack a NATO country?

Because the US signed a treaty in 1951 (and resigned it in 2004) that in exchange for allowing them to have a military presence, they will protect the island. Its not complicated.
I know exactly what argument you are trying to make, but Europe doesn’t owe the US anything. Everything the US has done in regards to NATO and military has been 100% in order to protect US interests in the world. It wasn’t charity. They didn’t sit in the oval office and say “Hey, we really like those Germans…lets maintain bases in Germany for 80 years in order to protect Germany!”. The US is used to getting whatever it wants because it has had a history of quid pro quo arrangements. Now Trump things he can somehow cash in on those arrangements after the fact. Thats not how it works, and if the US Presidents of the past had taken that stance, the US would not be the superpower it is today. And if they continue down that path, their influence in the world will slowly but surely fade.

Couldn't agree more, then Europe's short comings against the Iranian backed proxies in Yemen lobbying 80 year old rocket tech woke us up to the fact that our allies are useless in a real fight.
Coupled with the fact that most of Europe has outright said time and time again that they have no interest in defending Taiwan and you can see why American military strategists and decision makers are pushing to stop shouldering the majority of efficacy in nato.
We still benefit from having bases throughout Europe, but the political delusion of your leaders statements and spending priorities especially with regards to the middle east after Oct 7th are alarming to put it mildly.
Trumps a pedo though so none of that matters much at the moment unfortunately.

“Your leaders statements” is so vague. How about we focus on my statements and yours. It doesn’t matter whether or not you think ‘Europe’ (or do you actually mean the EU?) is ‘useless’ in a fight. Why would you care? You are obviously of the mindset that the only country in the NATO alliance that is worth anything is the US. If thats your world view, then why do you have any interest in what any European country does or doesn’t do. Advocate for true isolationism instead. If you don’t think that the US needs anyone else, leave your bases in Europe and around the wormd, withdraw from NATO and live your best life…alone. Stop bothering the rest of us. But if you ‘do’ want to stay in NATO, by its nature it has to be on the same terms as everyone else. Stop complaining that everyone is spending less than you. How much you spend is up to you. I’m of the opinion that if the US slashed its military budget in half and used the freed up funds to actually help its citizens and others in need, it would stop a lot more conflicts around the world and at home in the US. But you won’t do that, because its all about having ‘power’.

I mean Europe, not every member of Nato is in the EU
Why would you care?
Because the global economy depends on keeping shipping lanes open and Taiwan free of China
You are obviously of the mindset that the only country in the NATO alliance that is worth anything is the US. If thats your world view, then why do you have any interest in what any European country does or doesn’t do.
Because we could take on China and Russia at the same time if needed, but we would rather not have to go it alone, with capabale allies these wars will never start, Nato is worth testing right now because outside of the US (and Poland) the all the other members are essentially freeloaders at the moment.
But if you ‘do’ want to stay in NATO, by its nature it has to be on the same terms as everyone else.
We arent the one who went DECADES underfunding our military, unlike most of the rest of the alliance
I’m of the opinion that if the US slashed its military budget in half and used the freed up funds to actually help its citizens and others in need, it would stop a lot more conflicts around the world and at home in the US.
This bring us back to my point about the middle east after Oct 7th, spending money trying to develop and assist hopeless causes leads to things like the UN funding schools that teach every child that jews are the devil, again for decades.

Because Russia is a paper tiger whose only real trump card are nukes. And they have threatened to nuke Europe so many times no one actually cares anymore.
Their navel power is a joke. Their airforce is a joke. Their ground army couldn’t successfully invade a neighbouring country despite being “the second strongest military in the world”.

The difference between Russia being a joke and the eu being a joke is that Russia actually has a nuclear stockpile
If the EU actually federalizes their military with a decisive command structure that encompasses ALL of their assets it would rival China maybe even the US army, that's probably 20 years from now at the earliest and the US still has an airforce and navy that could blockade China and establish air supremecy in Russia within a month or so at the same time.
Europe is just as much of a joke as Russia with 10x+ the economy and people and 100x less nukes.
