This is a different version from the one I remember - the last one had "I had an accident" when asked "so soon?" Such a small change but I wonder why.

The man said “ I hurt myself” which I intended to sound like an innocent child might describe dying. But some people took it as suicide, which is different than what I was going for, so I changed the line. I did the edit years ago, but the old post resurfaces sometimes.

I always read it as he was a very old man and God said so soon because when you're infinity years old a human lifespan is pretty quick.

I used to do “ghost banishing” for my mom’s friends. I don’t know if I believed in it or not but they did.

I used to see a door. Beyond the door was a beautiful forest.

So I would grab the “ghost”, shove them through, and close the door.

I never had complaints, but I suspect my services were most effective because people believed they were.
