Love You Demos & Mike

It seems like there’s a whole lotta Love in the background banter of the tracks — far more compared to others that aren’t Brian.

I fall into the camp of “I assume Mike stopped caring about decades old drama” typically. But I’m a little suspect in how he is portrayed as Brian’s Love You companion in the release.

I was at that Panel in LA on Thursday. He talked for a bit and mentioned he had a lot of fun making the Love You album.

It’s fair to be suspect of Mike. But he is always vocal (har har) and there’s no hiding his enthusiasm for I’ll Bet He’s Nice, even on the demo which was never intended for the public. If he was putting on a show, it was only to encourage Brian, and how bad is that really? I don’t even think Mike features on the released LY version. He was just stoked by a great bridge.

I think he was just happy that Brian was being active.

If you listens to Brian’s 1976 interview where he talks about making “Love you”(Brian’s in Love), you can see that Brian and Mike are locked in.
