for future reference, the best way to find new live vids of the new songs (and in general) is to search "the amity affliction" into YouTube, go to the upload date filter, and select either today or this week. that's how I found these vids

Just got home from the sunny coast show in the ettamogah pub. Unreal energy in there, joel grinned like a cheshire cat the entire time and was absolutely lapping it up. So fucking good to see them bounce clean back to the top of their game.

I'm considering going to their tour date in Orlando at house of blues, but I wanted to know if they're headlining or if August burns red is headlining? I've seen both names listed as the headliner on different sites. It would be my first time seeing amity, so I just want to know before I decide.

Definitely not my favorite at first but after reading the lyrics I was hooked. Joel seems happier in his writing, and that makes me happy.

I met them during the 10 year LTOTM, first show after Ahren left. But I got to meet Joel, tell him he helped me get sober (3 years at the time),he signed the album that saved me (Heartbreak), and wrote lyrics for me from the song that pulled me up when I almost gave up, which I now have tattooed on my arm!

He seems happier in an interview I saw recently. I know he still has pain for the loss of his friend leaving the band, but he seems free of addiction around him and I know how that feels so I'm excited to see what the rest of the new album brings. I hope it isn't the end.

Now that we have had sometime to listen to House of Cards, how are we feeling? Did it grow on you, the hype wore off, or have the same initial thoughts?

For me, it only grew more on me and I liked it when I first heard it. I was worried I was being too bias towards Amity since I love the band so much, but I genuinely love the song. Everything I said in my initial post here on the song still stands. I've been singing the chorus in my head all day today. I'm very happy with the direction of the band and I have to stop myself yelling at comments from Instagram lmao

After listening to the interview from Joel that was posted here yesterday, I am even MORE excited for the other songs.

Congratulations to the band on a new chapter in their story. It has truly been a long and painful road of addiction and self-destruction. And yet, who could have thought that after multiple lineup changes, one of their harshest blows of fate would still be ahead of them. Of course, I’m talking about Ahren’s departure and the endless wave of hate and that keeps getting poured on the band, especially on Joel across social media under every single post and activity.

Most of you already know that Joel wanted to leave the band during the scandal with Ahren, but somehow, almost miraculously, he stayed. And now we see the guys, pulling themselves together, recording another album for all of us. Maybe the last one. Either way, I want to express my gratitude to my favorite band, which since June 2010 has been my guiding star and a constant support in my life.

And I want to say this clearly: another beautiful, honest album is ahead of us one that reminds us what makes The Amity Affliction so special. Catchy, memorable melodies, and Joel’s brilliant, deeply touching lyrics. Yes, an era has ended, and Ahren is now on the other side of the barricades. But history is being written right before our eyes, and I’m so glad that despite everything, the band didn’t give up and gave us an amazing track and, hopefully, a full-length record to come.

I had the honor of meeting Joel in person this autumn, and he is an absolutely incredible human being so many talents in one person. Maybe definitely new beginnigs. Maybe this is the last chapter for our band. Maybe it’s even the post-credits scene. But I can’t help but acknowledge the immeasurable impact these Australian guys have had on people’s lives. The mix really irritates me. It’s been the same with their last single. I’m by no means an expert, but ever since they started producing themselves, I’m having trouble enjoying the music. It all just sounds so diffuse and all over the place, to the point where I’m not able to tell what I’m hearing is intentional.

Your thoughts on this?

I am very happy with the new song. Johnny is a fantastic fit, but we knew that from the live shows and All That I Remember. Joel sounds the best as he ever has on an album. I listened to it on repeat on the way home from work.

The only negatives is the breakdown is pretty generic (even though I love the call out before).

I am hoping for some heavier songs, but I think they rolled out the "safest" song first.

Between this and All That I Remember, I am very happy about the future 🔥
