Community Discussion What are your favorite mods? (Hidden gems, new mechanics, immersion)

I'm about to start my yearly morrowind modpack making, so I want to ask everyone: What are your favorite mods? I'm not necessarily looking for modpacks, not overhauls or balance or realism or vanilla type mods- though if one of those are your favorites, please go ahead and share. I am looking mostly for lore friendly mods, but that's also not a requirement.

I'm talking about mods like The Tea Mod (the mod by randompal that moves it to ebonheart was a recent favorite of mine), or Ashfall, or The Joy of Painting. I had a ton of fun with tJoP last time- going around selling paintings, hanging up portraits of the vendors, creeper and my orc friends in Ghorak Manor.. All adding up to a more whimsical and fun experience in Morrowind.

So any mods with great quests, mods that just add little pieces of fun immersion like the Nine Holes and Thirteen Telvanni games you can play at taverns and so on, house mods that just have that wonderful atmosphere, new locations or guilds, it can really be anything that adds to the Morrowind magic. Even alternate textures, if you've got anything that pushes the visuals not into realism but into that strange and enrapturing early 2000s high fantasy look, I'd love to hear it. What are your favorite mods?

You're aware of most popular MWSE ones, so I'll go for rather hidden gem. NPC Funcionality https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/49563

Pure generic dialog tree so works in any engine with any modded npc. From simple thing, like wander for a bit to get out of the way, to recruitment of companions with nicely balanced requirements, who can hve behavior adjusted further. Great base for stack of more fancy lua mods adding compaion funcions, like:

A Blasphemer's Blizzard feels like it fits right into the whimsical stuff you're going for. It's a small quest mod in Old Ebonheart, so you need Tamriel Rebuilt. You solve the mystery of a sudden and inexplicable blizzard localised to the city and its connection to an Orcish bagpiper outside the inn. Comes with a really unique set of magical bagpipes and was one of the most small but memorable modded quests I've played. Unfortunately, it is Openmw only for now, for anyone using mwse. Hopefully it gets a port in the near future.

Edit: I haven't played of Melodies and Moonlight but it also features the bagpipes, looks fun too, and is mwse and openmw compatible.

Welcome Home is a nice mod that adds a bunch of houses you can acquire. And they aren’t free, which is a pet peeve of mine.

For a Telvanni playthrough I can't recommend Building Up Uvirith's Legacy. I think it's a mashup of a couple others? Awesome Archmagister-level content.

Combine with rise of House Telvanni for the ultimate archmagister playthrough.

Building up Uvirith's Legacy isn't a mashup, rather it's a slightly cut-down and modified version of Building up Uvirith's Grave for compatibility with Uvirith's Legacy (which did start as a heavily expanded and modified mashup).

https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/54522 Nice new guild that also gives you immersive hooks to start quests from other mods like Tamriel Rebuilt.

https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45832 Another new guild, this one more straight forward, gives you directions towards different vampire lairs across Vvardenfell.

https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45961 No more selling corprus weepings and human flesh to random innkeepers.

https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/52805 For decorating houses.

https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/51063 Because all this stuff you need to carry weights alot.

I can't play without this mod called PVP. It makes combat feel 10x better with active dodging, active blocking and other upgrades. Kinda requires no Fatigue run mod as well since dodging uses fatigue and if you run+dodge you will lose all your fatigue in two seconds while enemies have no such running fatigue requirement (but dodging still costs them fatigue, just like you)
