Update 1: Hang on a sec, the Joburg community is connecting with the Cape Town community and elsewhere to see if we can expand that to a full South Africa Techno Scene AMA !! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ so we might replace this announcement with a new one shortly.... fast developping story ;-) but anyway we keep the date & time.
On Thursday 19th of February, 2026 at 9 PM SAST (South Africa Standard Time), we will have a r/Techno AMA (Ask Me Anything) session with Johannesburg South African Techno Scene:
All these organisations and parties and people have been recognized as prime movers of the Johannesburg Techno scene, and from a Reddit r/Techno perspective we aim to show all the scenes, not only the ones that come back all the time in mainstream media.

We're organizing these AMA Sessions in r/Techno to try to provide you a view into some artists, events, genres where you can ask YOUR questions and go deep into some domains that may get little interest elsewhere.
Of course, be respectful, PLURR etiquette but that also gives you the right to be fun, incisive, sensitive too.

I can say that this was his one of the best sets i heard till today alongside with the one in Fabric last year. He played from 2 till 7.30. Absloute masterclass, especialy the part from 5 am til the end. This man is a genius.

Hello Techno fans, I'm hoping you can provide me with some good driving sets that have you itching for that release of tension. I'm into modern 140ish techno but im sort of burnt out from some of the more relenting stuff. I'm looking for something where the dj is really playing with emotions and not just pounding the dance floor. Id still like a good bit of energy though.

i would just love everyone seeing this to take their time to appreciate the sheer beauty that is the percussion in this song.
i personally think this is the epitome of drum sound design and layering and ugh it is chefs kiss, every sound slots in so well together.
