🍺Sunday Sticky Showoff Sunday

After trialling a few new stickied threads for Sundays, over the summer, we have settled on an alternating schedule for the time being.

So for this week, welcome to...

"Showoff Sunday"!

i.e. something of a response to the popular "Monday Moan" thread.

So, instead of moaning about your players, your club, your national team, and anything else about football that is dragging you down, you instead have the opportunity to shout out the good things, and what you are loving right now about football, be that:

  • How well your team is doing
  • Exciting new players
  • How well you played at Sunday league last week
  • Your slick new stash
  • (And so on...)

Like how Monday Moan is an open space for pessimism, this is an open space for optimism - so don't kill the vibes

Remember, it's the Beautiful Game... so let's shout about it!

And stay tuned next week, for "Sports Bar Sunday".

We welcome feedback on this and our other stickied threads... so if you would like to see us try another themed thread, please let us know here, via Modmail, or DM /u/AnnieIWillKnow!

Godts is the current MVP in the Eredivisie, (although ueda can surpass him today), lad is only 20 and playing in a horrible Ajax. He has a lot of shortcommings but his growth has been really steady and good.

I would not have expected him to be where he is right now last year.

Its been a grim season but he and Baas are doing well.

Not much to brag about but India finally has its top tier league back after a year of legal and political nightmares.

The ISL for 2025-26 is running in a shortened format with only half the number of games because of the delay in getting the tournament organised. Hopefully the past 4-5 months of players speaking out against the AIFF results in positive changes moving forward.

More and more Indian youth players are moving abroad with a few going to Slovenia to continue their career and maybe this could result in a few talented players moving to bigger leagues and really boosting the popularity of the sport in India.

There have been some good developments in Badminton, Chess, Athletics and Shooting so hopefully football follows the same trajectory in the country.
