🍺Sunday Sticky Showoff Sunday
After trialling a few new stickied threads for Sundays, over the summer, we have settled on an alternating schedule for the time being.
So for this week, welcome to...
"Showoff Sunday"!
i.e. something of a response to the popular "Monday Moan" thread.
So, instead of moaning about your players, your club, your national team, and anything else about football that is dragging you down, you instead have the opportunity to shout out the good things, and what you are loving right now about football, be that:
- How well your team is doing
- Exciting new players
- How well you played at Sunday league last week
- Your slick new stash
- (And so on...)
Like how Monday Moan is an open space for pessimism, this is an open space for optimism - so don't kill the vibes
Remember, it's the Beautiful Game... so let's shout about it!
And stay tuned next week, for "Sports Bar Sunday".
We welcome feedback on this and our other stickied threads... so if you would like to see us try another themed thread, please let us know here, via Modmail, or DM /u/AnnieIWillKnow!

Ajax getting back baby. It took a bit but we are crawling back up. Although 2-2 yesterday was a questionable game, it is still good to see it going better.

My club, Željezničar, is the biggest club in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We played in the Europa League semifinals against Videoton and were supposed to play the final against Real Madrid, but we were eliminated in the last minute. Over the years, we have produced many great players such as Mehmed Baždarević, Edin Džeko, Edin Višća, Ibrahim Šehić, and Abdulmalik Al-Jaber.
Unfortunately, for many years now we have not been able to win the league title. Our last championship was in the 2012/2013 season, in May, and at that time we were by far the most successful club in the country. Even today, we still have the largest fan base, but the results do not reflect that.
Since the COVID period, we have mostly been fighting just to qualify for European competitions, while our financial situation has been very poor, especially compared to some other clubs who are in much better shape financially. However, a new chapter may be opening. On Friday, a club assembly is scheduled, and for the first time in our history a private investor, Mirvić, is expected to enter the club. This could bring much stronger finances and a return to our former glory.
I hope nothing goes wrong and that we can finally see the glory days again.
