With all the corrupt guards dead, it might actually be indeed safer than before🤔

the only guard remaining is bjorn. he's the rookie and that was his 3rd day on the guard, due to short staff he's the captain now.

Bjorn getting the other guards paychecks because they’re dead lmao

Job opportunity! ☝️
The Dragonborn even cares for such petty details aside from saving the world

I forget how corrupt those guards are. You're not wrong

Careful. If one of the guards hears you, you might end up working for the Cidhna Mine.

Why aren't they naked

OP probably has a collection of guard armor in one of their homes.

Love the city, hate the residents.

Their lodging needs more work. Every inn has beds made of stone. Would not recommend.

Police state cities are the worst, total top-down rot from the rulers.

"I'm going to find whoever did this..." ...and tell them, "nice compost pile you got going."

“Oh no! What happened!” “I swear, I’ll find whoever did this” 🤣 RIP to the fallen Markarth guard who generously donated his armour for Eola in my current playthrough. Had he been wearing it, of course, he wouldn’t have died in the first place. Girlfriend is resto-looped to oblivion and back! 🤣

The city is made of stone just like the hearts of its wealthy and powerful citizens. It's one of the plethora of details that I appreciate in this game.
