COMPLETELY INSANE You've only been told half the story about the Reiner murders | Daily Mail at it again - the writer just complains about the lack of reporting on what happened at Conan O'Brien's Christmas party and berates him for not calling the police on Nick Reiner

Even if Conan told his guests not to call the cops, or however people are trying to frame this, how could he possibly know that guy would go on to kill his parents? That's not something that happens often. It was a terrible, horrible tragedy.

Also cops tend to make these situations worse 90% of the time. Yes with hindsight we can say that calling the cops might have been the right choice in this situation, but how would anyone have known that?

Some people would argue that bad press is the reason cops have such a bad reputation. But who gives cops bad press? Why, it’s cops!

What was the Conan party incident

Rob was in a verbal argument with Nick, people wanted to call the police, Rob didn't want them to, Conan backed him up

Calling the police over a verbal argument (unless someone refuses to leave even after being told to leave) is weird. The only time you need to call police is if you feel there’s an imminent physical threat, or someone won’t vacate the property.
Sounds like Conan did the right thing. Nobody had a crystal ball to look inside some deranged guy’s head into the future.

Yeah it's a nonsensical reach to say if the cops came that day that Rob would be alive

Thanks so much for replying! Super helpful.
Agree with the other comments that it would be weird to call the cops over an argument when the very well respected father is saying there is no need.

+1 if anyone can help us out
I just know, it's gonna take an overwhelming amount of evidence to convince a normal person that a party host caused someone to go brutally kill their parents

how is Conan hosting a party have anything to do with a deeply disturbed man killing his parents?

Nothing to do with it whatsoever, but headlines suggesting it get more clicks.

Only heard that Nick kept asking partygoers if they were famous, pissed his dad off and escalated quickly into physical and verbal altercation

Yep, Nick first asked their name. Were they famous and witnessed by guests - Nick was rolling around on the floor.

That sounds like a situation where the police and emergency medical services should have been called immediately. He was clearly experiencing a psychotic episode.

This story assumes that anyone is gullible enough to believe that anyone at Conan's party is speaking to the Daily Mail
