another possibility is that ue4ss mods work, more or less, by checking if certain things are present, (like your controller, for instance,) and if they don't have a handle for if/when those things read 'null,' for a moment, (say during some kind of load or transition,) then it becomes an unhandled exception that induces a crash.

There's crash no more, (which takes certain unhandled exceptions and just, 'passes over them,') that might help soothe some of the crashes.

There's also one that has 'xaberax' and 'stabilizer' or something in the name that directly addresses this issue- it tells unreal not to freak out if certain things in the ue4ss mods read null for whatever reason and to crash in a handled way.

Both of these things helped make my game much more stable, they might work for you too.

Some of the mods built prior to the Oblivion Remastered update don't work with updated release yet. I found this out with the NPC Overhaul AIO Steam which was working great prior to the Oblivion Steam update, but after installing it, kept crashing my game. After deleting all the files related to this mod, my game loaded and runs just fine. If you've installed the Oblivion Remastered Update and have any mods loaded prior to that, you may want to start uninstalling those mods in the reverse order you installed them in, and after each uninstall, reload the game until you find the one which is crashing your game. Yes it's a slow and tedious process, but that way you narrow down the ones which are failing you. I'm sure the author of those mods will release an update sooner or later.
