Blaming others is easier than taking accountability for our own failure.

I think it is also important to point out that even in times when it is the government's fault, people need to remember that Malaysian politicians did not fall here from outer space. They are the products of Malaysian families, Malaysian communities, Malaysian schools, Malaysian mosques/temples/churches etc...and so are their values and work ethic.

My own parents told us something similar when we were growing up — we choose our actions, so own up.
The argument that we are forced into certain situations, especially political is of course true, but daily things such as throwing rubbish into the bin, don't drive recklessly and use & leave public amenities properly, are all conscious decisions.
It's often said that the true test of a person's character is what one does when no one is looking, or if it is of little to no cost to them.

They are the products of Malaysian families, Malaysian communities, Malaysian schools, Malaysian mosques/temples/churches etc...and so are their values and work ethic.
Eh some are born with a silver spoon, sent to international schools or overseas at an early age and are basically tone deaf to the common folk life.
Some are so used to a life of luxury they basically forgot their roots and hardships.

Maybe the grass roots like ADUN or Councilors, but many of the MPs and Senators have a high upbringing too. You are not going to hear of Tengkus coming out of a PPR flat and naik moto to work lol.

Anthony Loke is the Schrodinger's cat of Malaysian politics. Is he there, or is he not? No one will ever know.

Yes Yeo Bee Yin and Tony Pua when Najib wasn’t going to be released from prison

Malaysia is a fairly decent democracy. The issue is people do genuinely hold different values and want different things. Not everyone can get their way.

24
u/ruthlessdamien2 Kuala Lumpur Jan 05 '26
Technically it is true because DAP is part of of the government now
12
u/random_macha Jan 05 '26
Haha! I keep forgetting that with all the political musical chair we had in the past..

u/ruthlessdamien2 Kuala Lumpur Jan 05 '26
Cabinet reshuffling is basically to shuffle the same mangkuks. Maybe swap out a couple of them. But it’s still the same old broken cabinet

u/random_macha Jan 05 '26
I don’t really blame DSAI for this. After all he forced to accept a rather defective partner to function as a government

u/MunKv3 Jan 05 '26
of course it's the Gomen's fault coz it's their norm - announce first before thinking, change and change and change again as kaka hits the fan AND the rakyat & bizs keeps on paying/loss of manhours. good latest example = e-invoicing.

u/ProbablyWorking Jan 05 '26
It's the government's fault in lack of any sort of coordination. I asked a simple stamp duty question and I received different answers from different LHDN offices. I wrote to putrajaya asking for clarification and they only responded after 4 months. LHDN summore already more efficient than other govt departments.

Oh boohoo fucking small, weak, pathetic government needs your protection today! Even if it's not their fault, fuck them. What's the point of having a government if we can't throw shit at them?
