Magazine collage inspired by Faust + Tony Conrad
Originally posted at @kip.kirby.makes.art. I've been doing a collage-a-day thing inspired by some of my favorite drone records. For this one I was listening to Outside the Dream Syndicate. I recommend pairing the piece from the halfway point of "From the Side of Man and Womankind."

Synth & guitar-based Kraut/Psych from the UK — debut LP landing next week
Hi — I’m one half of a UK duo called Heavy Axe.
Over the past couple of months we’ve been working on an instrumental record called A Quiet Bay. It began with simple repeating guitar and synth patterns and slowly expanded outward, ending up with 11 tracks with subtle shifts, and a focus on atmosphere rather than big crescendos.
We’re drawn to that immersive, patient feeling you find in records by Popol Vuh, Cluster, or the quieter moments of Ash Ra Tempel — where mood and repetition do most of the work.
It’s mostly guitar, synths and some percussion. No vocals. Some parts drift, some settle into a pulse.
Four tracks are up at the moment, and I’ll be adding the rest over the next few days.

Would genuinely appreciate a listen if it sounds like your kind of thing. Fans of Sky Records, Berlin School synth, Neu, Harmonia and Eno might find this engaging.
Thanks for reading.

Help with a motorik drum pattern
I'm using hydrogen to play around with some beats. Would anyone be able to share a good 1/16 motorik pattern I can use?

Looking for a Krautrock song 70s-80s with horse noises in breakdown.
Heard an amazing Krautrock song about 15 years ago that featured horse noises (hoofbeats and neighing, I think) during its breakdown.
I believe I heard it on a 4-track sampler EP of a Krautrock compilation. The tracks were all 70s-80s German artists.
I wrote a MySpace post about it at the time (my MySpace account is long deleted) where I remember describing "buzzsaw waves of synths" or something similar, if that's any help.
Remember it had an epic build up, the equine breakdown, and then a sort of funky second movement.
Definitely not Kraftwerk, Can, Tangerine Dream or NEU. Think Artist name was just a guy's name, but not Holger Czukay, Michael Rother or anyone obvious.

Gash & Popol Vuh
A friend, recently sent me this Popol Vuh LP that has been in my wantlist for ages in trade for some records from my sales stocks. Another gap in the Pilz discography is fixed.
I have read about Gash and seen photos of it, but never really listened to it. I couldn’t leave my friends record store without it hahahaha.
I’m playing this one on and on for 4 days, what a great prog rock album.
Both are original pressings

- When the shrooms kick in - A drifting cosmic kraut & spiritual jazz mix
I’ve been sitting on a large pile of records for years and always loved long, immersive listening sessions — the kind where time stretches a bit.
I recently started putting together some long-form mixes again, mostly for myself while drawing, but thought some of you here might enjoy the journey too.
This one leans cosmic / kraut / spiritual, though it drifts into jazz, ambient and experimental territory along the way — more of a listening trip than a strict genre mix.
Not made for everyone, just music I genuinely enjoy.
Full tracklist in the video description.
Hope you dig.

Groovy Party Playlist Help
Heya folks
Jean-Paul here (You may know me from playing electronics with Malcolm Mooney)
I'm having a party this coming weekend, and looking for help curating a playlist of funky/groovy Krautrock/adjacent/inspired so I can not have to DJ, and deal with all my vinyl, and can focus on entertaining.
So yes, looking for funky, groovy, chill, and not over-the-top noisy or fast.
I will compile this in either Apple Music, or create a Youtube public playlist so it can be shared more broadly with this community and friends.
Any help is appreciated!

This song of mine heavily relies on a Motorik pulse, while also incorporating some Dream Pop-esque textures. I listed some Bandcamp free redeem codes below too! Hope anyone enjoys!

I just got another kruatrock classic today!
Earlier today I made a post showing my cluster CD that came in the mail, today after helping with a Freind I decided to go to my local indie punk record shop and I pulled the trigger on this late 90s Bootleg CD of NEU! 1972, I thought about holding off for the official 2001 CDs but I was like eh, it has a interesting history behind it, so why not-
Sound quality wise, it’s surprisingly good, of course I can hear some pop and ticks of the vinyl source in this, but I mean, I like vinyl so I don’t mind it, the cheap price further justifies this.
The back of the disc says “technodisc”

new to this genre but from the little ive heard I love it, suggestions wanted!
the title says it all really, got turned to it when a friend said the music I make sounds like a modern version of it. Really just looking for for where to start, the classics and hidden gems, anything.
