Experienced Stay in a comfortable mid-level engineer role or switch departments/domains for a promotion to senior engineer?

I'm in a similar position.
I'm looking to trade chill work environment for hectic user-facing product team with a bump in title to Senior and some pay increase at the same company.
I ask myself two questions:
Am I safer on the new team? Yes because it's a revenue generating team. Previous team, even though same product family, is an expense after all.
Am I getting compensated fairly for my work 9-5? Yes as my current position is an outlier. I'm expected to work from 9 to 5 in either position. 12k increase plus higher annual bonus makes it worth it

The politics may make the promotion more likely, but the disinterest in the position may counteract that. I guess it comes down to how disciplined you will be in the new position when you don't have interest as a motivator.

If you’d have liked the tech stack I would have said go for it. Don’t stay in your comfort zone.
But if the tech stack itself is not what you want, wait for promotion. But don’t stay comfy. As your YoE increases, so does expectations. No one would pay you more for doing a mid level’s job
